Giuffre's memoir is very close to release, I think, so some more details of what this c.unt put her through are pending — his daughters were only a year younger than her when this was going on. Disgraceful and derelict human he is.

The shit just keeps flowing, the orange blob commuted the sentence of George Santos... precursor to Ghislaine release? Who knows...

Ignoring the fact that pouring the dregs of some coffee down a street drain is not remotely harmful to the environment, those enforcement officers have no authority whatsoever. If she'd refused to co-operate - particularly refused to give them her name - she could have just walked away, but instead they intimidated her into accepting a fine. Absolute edwins.

The sheer gall of a government organisation fining a member of the public for pouring a little bit of coffee down a drain when water companies aren't successfully being penalised for pumping raw sewage for thousands of hours into the same waterways the council are pretending to protect. It's mind-blowingly tone-deaf.

Exactly, when it rains, far worse substances than coffee are rinsed down the drains. This story is beyond diabolical, the "our officers acted responsibly and objectively" had me gasping in disbelief.

And naturally now that it's in the national press, they've u-turned.

The damage is done. I'm glad this particular person is off the hook, but this had better start a conversation about what's appropriate to fine someone for. Don't get me wrong, I don't want councils to lose the ability to fine people on the spot for littering, litter is one of my biggest bugbears because it's so bloody non-sensical, but it has to actually be littering.

Would they have gone anywhere near her if she'd puked 12 shots of Sambuca into the same drain on a Saturday night? Probably not.

Glad the pilots/crews are all safe.

There's an unholy trinity if ever there was one.
