Yeah, love the Terror, Harris in particular is fantastic throughout. Well worth reading the book too, for what it's worth.
I've also not watched subsequent series, I've heard they're not as good.

They're not. I agree the original is sublime, great oppressive atmosphere and excellent acting.

The Gilded Age
This is pretty much 'Downton Abbey in New York City', though set several decades earlier (1880s). Just finished the third season. Much like Downton, it's one of those "I would never, ever watch this alone, but it's a blast when watched with the wife!" shows.
Great costumes, sets, and some witty dialogue, though it feels a world away from shows like The Alienist, despite being set in the same time and place (definitely watched that one alone).

"Kingdoms and empires pass away like mist from the sea; the people shout and triumph and even in the revelry of Belshazzar's feast, the Medes break the gates of Babylon."

Yellowstone
There's little amounting to any kind of complexity in this show, just an endless flow of shit show of the week that always ends up in near zero consequence for anyone beyond that of seemingly but a couple of hours. Throw in some random horse porn, a country song, Kevin Costner somehow wandering on set either sat staring at nothing or forever reminiscing on the past and/or dismissing the living shit out of his own hell spawns in various guises in an empty room - I swear the man gets absolutely nothing to do on this show. He's Kevin fucking Costner...can we at least see him leave that fucking porch so he can oh so thankfully escape not having to spend every moment of every scene looking down at the floor? Won't someone think of the man's neck? Is it any real surprise the show runner and Costner himself ended up enduring "creative differences" which pretty much brought about the end of what I feel is a relatively entertaining (often extremely dark and provocative) Western inspired show.
As I'm currently on Season 3 as my evening tv show of choice, and it rarely hits a point where I'm feeling less than engaged, if only Tyler Sheridan had given any of the female cast outside of Beth in constant bitch mode an ounce of actual grit in tandem with all his purely masculine portrayals, at this current point Teeter could well develop into something pretty good, but I already know he won't travel that path. I do like some of the sub-plots but you never truly get the feeling any of it is actually coming to a head as somehow things always twist enough in the Duttons' favour, I'd like to see John actually tested for once...
Also, I can't fucking stand Walker. What a Edwin.
It's one of those rare shows in spite of a lot of things that has me completing an episode and diving right into another several times in a row. Again I just wish that the so called sub-plots (outside of Beth and Rip practically both living complete double lives and Lloyd as yet not suffering a single amount of karma that is stacked to high heaven, my god, Edwin) and that at the very least one thing slowly amounted to something a little more substantial that can finally get Costner to leave the house/reservation land or whatever - I'm surprised he gets anything done oh wait that's why he has folk branded and or far worse. He's just an overlord in a cowboy hat, that's right.

I hated Yellowstone, but I thought the 2 prequels were great.

1883 is great but I've yet to watch the last couple of episodes.

Faaahkin 'ell...Tom Hardy, fixer for an Irish mob family... Guy Richie at his best, ripping series.
