Considering Cyberpunk looks great and runs at 40fps on Switch 2, that’s pretty atrocious performance. For all From Soft’s brilliance, they can’t handle game engines well at all.

Didn’t it drop to 15 on PS4?

Cyberpunk? Probably. Elden Ring runs fine on PS4 based on the few hours I tried it on one.

I'm similarly intrigued by this, it's an interesting genre to apply this license to but one that fits the source material pretty well. I do think it's going to be a missed opportunity if they don't get the cast back to do voicework for it, which isn't mentioned in the game's Steam description at all so presumably isn't happening. A Voyager game is obviously going to be playing off nostalgia given it's 20 years since the series ended, and honestly it'd be nice to get them back together for a project while they're still working - Mulgrew and Beltran are both over 70 now. Most of them have reprised their roles relatively recently (Roxann Dawson is the only one I'm not aware of having done so, but it's possible she also appears in Star Trek Online with some of the others, I don't know it well) so I suspect they'd all be up for it still.

What went wrong? All manner of factors play into a game's success. As well as the quality of the game, the timing of release is important, as is how it compares to its competitors. You've got to be familiar, but have a USP. The same, but different. It's a tricky balance to maintain.

Spectre Divide had a few major issues. Its servers couldn't support the influx of players at launch, and those that did get in complained about the monetization, including a $90 bundle of skins. While many of the best FPS games implement similar monetizaion, it didn't make for a great first impression. "The expectations from players, given Shroud's involvement, didn't match our capabilities as an indie dev,"
That's quite something.

Shroud's so-called involvement with the entire ip was made out publically as if it were his own personal little baby, yet he in fact only streamed the game a handful of times and moved on, and when I claim a handful I mean a single week and that was it. $86 million in funding and Shroud's own investment was said to be around 20k and once that it became a reality that it wasn't going to be any similar type of runaway CS/Valorant (something obviously it was never going to achieve regardless) or even on a more moderate level due to his so-called direct involvement in making it seem it as if it were "Shroud's Game" bow to stern as the article states the expectations this caused was far too high then - Shroud himself seemed disinterested extremely quickly and stopped streaming it. The ironic thing is that SD was genuinely trying to do something different in the genre space it lent itself to and that having Shroud attached if anything placed an unfeasible burden around its neck, one it could never really live up to.

So yes the whole launch was a bit of a mess, and a rather confusing one at that. I can admire Shroud for putting some money up for it to an extent, but his involvement really did send out the wrong message in general.

This is why you should honestly never use such high profile genre related streamers to actively try and spearhead your game.

Say what you will about Act Man as his takes can often be a little bit, divisive, but perhaps Activision will actually pivot somewhat due to the overwhelmingly renewed interest in the Battlefield series?

Nah, they won't.

Cronos Reviews then.

The Good...9.5
Once again, Bloober Team has shown us that it is at the top of the horror chain. Beyond the scary moments, terrifying places, enemies, and gripping story, it also delivers a refreshing game full of player agency and a lot of emphasis on split-second decisions that make the whole time-hopping journey even more memorable.

After going through 2025 with almost no new survival horror experiences, I’m glad Cronos: The New Dawn delivered such a high-quality one. It is one of the few games that actually makes me feel like I’m struggling to survive against all odds. Its approach to combat, storytelling, and survival is refreshing and one that immerses you into one of the most harrowing and claustrophobic atmospheres of recent memory.

The Bad...5.8 (PCG Awarded The Callisto Protocol a 7.9 Score)
The ending, which I won't spoil here, didn't necessarily catch me by surprise (the foreshadowing is a little too heavy for that), but it explores some genuinely interesting ideas.

I just wish Cronos got to that stuff faster, so we could spend more time exploring the implications of those revelations, instead of getting bogged down with the hundredth conveniently placed letter talking about how there's no school tomorrow because of a lockdown, or person A feeling bad for abandoning person B. Notes and journal entries already feel like a tired storytelling trope at this point, and Cronos massively overuses them to tell very predictable stories.

And The Ugly...2 out of 5
Yes, there is a New Game Plus, additional endings, and combined with unlockable costumes to chew through once you beat the game for the first time. These additions may even resolve all of my unanswered questions from the story. However, I didn’t have enough fun with Cronos: The New Dawn to justify playing through the game a second time. As such, it’s hard to recommend this game for players who have been riding on the high of the horror genre’s success, since this doesn’t really come close to matching the quality of other entries in the genre.

Firstly; how many developers do their gameplay reveals as just 20+ minutes of entirely uninterrupted, unnarrated gameplay, letting the game speak for itself? Very refreshing.

It's obviously far more bombastic (Bondbastic?) than the Hitman games have been, but that was always going to be the case with this franchise. It definitely shows a lot of promise. If I'm honest this is something I'm more likely to watch than play, and it's telling that I sat through that pretty engrossed. There are a few bits that look a bit ropey, the car chase section in particular, but it ends in a pretty fantastic set piece. It's pretty much exactly what I'd want from a Bond game.

Watching Lirik playing it currently on his 10K PC and hitting sub 75 frames on avg and 69 in a heavy fight AFTER he applied the day one patch - he's running a 4090. I very much miss the originated art style.

Steam reviews sit at 46.96% Positive with 174k players.
