As from a few minutes ago, being a three times granddad :) Makes me feel old.

I'll make up for it by going to Bloodstock tomorrow and trying to feel like a cool young person.

Dean Castle.

A castle in Kilmarnock; very picturesque, set in beautiful and extensive grounds (Dean Castle Country Park), has lots of rooms to explore and a fantastic arms-and-armour collection on display...but best of all, it's FREE to the public, thanks to its former owner, Lord Howard deβ€―Walden, gifting the castle to the people of Kilmarnock in 1975, so now it's run by Ayrshire Council and is very well maintained. Highly recommend for a day out if you live in or are visiting the West of Scotland.

When you look into where the best place to get rare oop and bootleg music from and the answer, after nearly 30 years is still Soulseek! Maaaaaan I don’t know how long it’s been but it’s exactly the same and it’s still fucking awesome! I have so many cds that aren’t in streaming services or available digitally and having no pc drive I can’t rip them but pretty much everything I looked for is here!

Yeah I know a drive for PC is about 15quid but I’m tight -_-

I still buy CD's from time to time. I keep an old laptop that has a drive that I use to rip them but its very much on its last legs now.

When you get an email from your electricity & gas supplier saying "Sorry, you've been paying us too much money. We're sending you Β£450 to your bank."

Oat/Almond milk!

So, I've been suffering for years from folliculitis on my face. It's been bloody awful. Turns out it's my skin reacting to the whole milk I've putting in my six-cups-of-coffee-per-day over the last fifteen years or so. Using ChatGPT, I was able to diagnose what the problem was. Following the AI's suggestion, I cut milk out of my diet completely and now I'm folliculitis-free, which is a great blessing. Of course, going from whole milk to black coffee was a bit of a shock, but then I discovered oat/almond milk and found it's actually delicious, and I now prefer it by far to cow's milk.
So, it turns out this whole AI diagnosis was probably bullshit.

I went to the GP and was given a kind of medicine which is actually working to solve the problem. Hooray for modern medicine!

Modern medicine deserves a bloody good praise.

Also, as a side-note:

Oatly is fab!
I was forced to try Oatly this weekend because Lidl were out of their usual brand which costs literally less than half the price. However, it turns out that Oatly tastes absolutely no better than the cheaper product, so now I no longer feel like I am missing out with the budget choice.

That also merits a praise!

IKEA's customer service.

Absolutely top-notch. Super helpful and accommodating, quick and easy, no-fuss refunds. All their IT systems and software just works. Nice products too. Man, just IKEA in general.

That feeling you get when you've made the last pair of footwear you bought last for three years, they are in such disrepair they have partially open mouths at the front. You finally slip into something completely new that you got at 40% off - somehow it always feels like suddenly you're walking on the moon.

When you get a new boss who radically improves your working conditions for the better...then he retires four years later and you get another new boss who improves things even more.

My youngest son who has been running his own family based valet & detailing business with my daughter (when not attending art college) for the last few years today had a job interview with someone who contacted him through his personal business website from one of the largest car groups in the country - and after being given a car to work on the man supervising disappeared after less than twenty minutes, returned told him to head to the office and offered him the job on the spot.

Just got off the phone with him with me all covered in paint and as he's been looking at getting a larger place it could not have come at a better time. So very happy and so intensely proud of him, especially as he grew up with mild cerebral palsy in his legs it never held him back. He has until Tuesday to make what is going to be a life altering decision, and it surely won't be an easy one to make.

Edit: He accepted the job.
