Scene V: The Mayor's House
Re: Frontier Scum, Scene V: The Mayor's House
Scrancher will sequester those away somewhere he can fit them.

Re: Frontier Scum, Scene V: The Mayor's House
Tucked under your arm is the best you can manage at present, until you get back to your saddle-bagged bicycle outside. This means you can only fire one gun at present.
You leave the library and move along the hallway towards the west. There is a door at the hallway's far end, and a door in the hallway's southern wall, about mid-way along.
Do you enter this room, or proceed to the end of the hall?
My fire is more than can be made with forests,
My state more base than are the basest valleys;
I wish no evenings more to see, each evening;
Shamed, I hate myself in sight of mountains,
And stop mine ears, lest I grow mad with music.

I'd say the southern door.

Re: Frontier Scum, Scene V: The Mayor's House
You open the door and reveal what must be the mayor's bedroom. The room is badly fire-damaged, though the flames have since been extinguished, presumably by the Redrum Boys. There is a door at the back of the room (southern wall) and the large bed has a leather bag on it, looking as if someone has been attempting to pack their things in a hurry. There's no sign of anyone in the room.

Re: Frontier Scum, Scene V: The Mayor's House
ACTUALLY NO!
As Cadaver Kid moves toward the bed, the fire-damaged wood gives way beneath his weight!
CRACK!
The entire floor gives way, sending the bed, the bag, the silver in the bag (one-hundred and twenty-pieces in all) and Cadaver Kid himself, tumbling down through the ceiling of the room below!
Roll me 1d8, CK, and make another SLICK test on top of that.

Re: Frontier Scum, Scene V: The Mayor's House
The mayor's bed crashes into the already fire-damaged floor of the room below: the entrance hall of the house, right by the front door (just to the west of the dining room where the Redrum Boys were hiding out).
The fire-blackened floor of the entrance hall cracks under the impact, causing the bed to fall through that too, sending the silver coins from the mayor's bag tumbling down into the gap beneath the floorboards (this is just a small gap, not an entire room).
Cadaver Kid, meanwhile, lands on top of the bed, scratched, bruised and winded, but alive!
(You also again an ace).
The other members of the Bean Bunch are standing in the bedroom doorway on the floor above, looking down at their friend.

Scrancher is starting to think that CK means the Canary Kid by this point.

I groan and slowly make my way back upstairs.
"Room's clear."
