Good on you Volodymyr for challenging the arseholes, but honestly that's just not going to help. It's evident that all Trump and Vance care about is looking strong in their own media, to the point where they're willing to throw diplomacy off of a bridge to do it. I fully believe Trump is petty enough to say "Get out, no deal" if you embarrass him in front of a camera.

Urgh. I really, really hate to say it, but Trump was right about one thing; he held all of the cards in that negotiation, and no amount of his being wrong was ever going to change that. I respect the hell out of Zelenskyy, but arguing with that moron in front of a camera was not a good idea.

I suspect the entire thing was a trap to get him in front of cameras so they could bully the shit out of him and then use him refusing to sign the deal as justification for dropping all further support for Ukraine and lifting sanctions on Russia. Zelenskyy showed remarkable restraint given the absolute barrage of shit that was being thrown his way there.

Nah, I'm pretty sure Trump did actually want to extort Ukraine's mineral supply out of him. I think he understands (or more likely had it explained by Musk until he finally got it) that putting massive tariffs on China where 80% of the US' rare earth mineral imports come from means they need to secure another supply.

Supposedly it was Trump who asked Zelenskyy to leave without signing the deal too. So he has actively prevented them from doing so when the reporters are claiming Ukraine wanted to stay to continue the talks.

I genuinely don't think there's a reason other than "this guy is disrespecting me in front of my media in my White House". The guy has skin thinner than paper, and all Trump has to do is get his good buddy Putin to bomb a few more schools to get Zelenskyy to crawl back.
