It's funny how we've got a good chunk of Campaign 1 and a short mini adventure in the wings and probably won't get around to the next big campaign until likely some time next year and we've all already got characters we're eager to bring out.
I've spent all morning working on a new character, and I'm super-stoked to start playing as them

Yeah, I've no problem with using the stats you've rolled. If it's a character you're going to be playing for potentially a couple of years or more, the last thing you want is duff stats! :)

One thing's just occurred to me. In terms of worldbuilding for the new campaign, I have a map and a lot of loose ideas, but I haven't started thinking yet about all the different races and how they fit into the world and its societies, cultures, etc. I don't want to restrict any race choices for characters, and don't feel like you have to decide until the session zero, but if you're wanting to go outside of the standard races (humans, halflings, elves, half-elves, dwarves, half-orcs and dragonborn) then it'd be handy to know in advance so that I can figure out how that fits into the world. e.g. If you were to go for something like a tabaxi (cat person), I'd expect that to be extremely rare or foreign to the continent we're on, so it would need some extra consideration.
Will it be set in an entirely new world then, or a continuation of the Forgotten Realm's stuff as a sort of sequel to C1?

Want to share your chosen class or would you rather keep it secret until closer to the start?

Sure, I've gone for a cleric, main focus on melee and damage-dealing, with a bit of light healing thrown in.

Basically, I wanted to be a spellcaster but with a bt of heft and survivability, so I could tank if needed.

An entirely new world, unless anyone objects? If it quickly proves to be a huge mistake, we can always have some D&D portaly-magic event which whisks you all away to the Forgotten Realms.

Ah nice. Cleric seemed rather fun from what I experienced with my brief stint as Drosku. I didn't really get to explore his possibilities fully though as we rescued Sage a lot quicker than expected and he took a backseat after that as I tried to justify a way to bin him from the party. Wasn't quite expecting him to go out like that mind you, RIP noble Dragonborn.

That's fine with me. Though I'll PM you with regards to the little backstory I had set up as I was considering playing a Tiefling.

In fairness, by the time the Unmentionables are through wreaking havoc there may not be much of a Forgotten Realm left.

The Intentionally Forgotten Realms. ;)

Or maybe the Unmentionable Realms would be more appropriate...

The funny thing is that Charr has had the choice of resurrecting Drosku for at least three days now, but decided instead that the spell slinging baby army was more pressing.

I'm sorta hoping to keep my character a little bit secret for now for roleplay reasons, but I'll say for now that I'm going for another ranged character. Also, the class specialty I'm wanting to go for isn't part of the standard rules (I think it was from an expansion that Wrath owns though); is there a way of keeping the character secret while still being able to create it in those circumstances? I know Wrath very kindly invited a character I was playing in a friend's game to our campaign so I could use his purchased manuals, but I think you could all see Rhokuul.

No, I think that's ok if you want to keep it under wraps. It sounds like Mantis is going melee, you're going ranged and I'm a mix of both, so we sound fairly balanced. And then there's the sidekicks to pick up any slack where we're not so strong.

I'm going to be a bit of a glass cannon dex based melee though, so we might enjoy having a fighter style sidekick.

Raid, when you create your character you can set them to public or private. That should do it. I think Sage is set to private, can you see him in your campaign screens?

No I can't, and I can see everyone else. That'll do it, cheers.

Don't worry, I think he's just busy. I sent him the concept for my new character's backstory and he hasn't said anything about that yet either. Mostly because I imagine his initial reaction was to roll his eyes and say "Oh god, you want to do what!?"
