The Orcs can wait here all day; they're not going anywhere. Actually, if they can't get the cake recipe out of the Halfling, perhaps they'll just eat him instead...

HERO PHASE begin!
It appears we have but one choice. One of us must attack that Orc Champion.

Should I be the one?

I have a high weapon skill, and my toughness is now up to 7 with my dragon armour. So I'll be difficult to hit when they all come at me.

EDIT: Gibnar could then attack diagonally if I fail to finish him off...

Do it :)

I'll hang back in the doorway somewhere (will confirm placement once everyone else has moved) and chuck in a tactical fireball or dagger as the situation develops.

Are we sure Gibby can attack diagonally through a doorway?

Well, in the boardgame room tiles were right up to corridor tiles, so we always treated them as diagonally adjacent.

Unless there's something in the rulebook that states otherwise I reckon it's okay.

Do we have alternative options?

Unless I'm mistaken, once Terence (or anyone) goes to the tile inside the doorway, aren't they forced to remain there - blocking the doorway for the rest of us - because of the orc champion?

Well, in the Ranged Combat section, the space diagonally adjacent to the doorway is mentioned as being "partially obscured" by the wall. I don't know if that also counts for diagonal melee combat? It also says "Use common sense" to work things out. I mean I guess Gibby could lean around the wall and jab his spear in?

Also, yes, I've deliberately set it up so that you're forced to walk into an Orc trap, until you cut your way out of it. Unless Paulox casts a fireball in, at the risk of taking Terence out with the Orcs (though he does have a Fate Point remaining). ¬_¬

You could always use DM discretion and add a small penalty to diagonal doorway attacks? Say, -2 to the hit roll or something.

Also, Bellis is actually much tougher than me with more wounds, despite my dragon armour. So I'm wondering whether he should be the one to go first. Hmm...

We shall await our glorious leader to decide.

Good idea, but we'll say -1.

Cool. God, I'm *dying* to be able to play this regularly for real with someone and get a proper weekly campaign going again. It's really scratched that itch. Shame I don't know anyone round here who'd be up for it.

Anyway, I need to shoot off now so I'll join in again tomorrow..

I'd offer, but I think you're in Cornwall aren't you mate? That's probably a bit much of a commute

Doesn't really help that you appear to live in Cornwall. You can't really get further away from everyone else in the UK than that.

(Oh, just checked the map -- it's actually not that far away from other places ¬_¬)

I'll go in first then, even though I haven't had any fancy magic spells cast on me. ¬_¬

I'll move to the tile above the Orc and engage with my axe.

Gibnar can move after me, then Terence, finally Paulox.
