Re: Game of Thrones S8 (Here be spoilers)
Thought the final episode was pretty meh, wasn't anywhere near as bad as the episodes that had come before. Hard to get angry about any of it really as the final series had been so bad. In terms of endings it wasn't anywhere near as bad as a some of the worst endings, yes it had holes in it but that has been true for the entire run of the show.
Thought the way they did away with Danny was the best way to do it and makes a certain amount of sense, as does picking Brann. Didn't have an issue with Bronn being Master of Coin, someone needs to do it and he is in charge of Highgarden now. Tyrion 'always pays his debts' so I don't think it was necessary to show him physically doing so. The North being separate also makes sense but it doesn't really follow that the rest of the kingdoms would be fine with staying under the rule of Brann.
Biggest WTF moment was Arya suddenly deciding she wanted to go sailing.

Speaking of debts, something else occurs to me. Tyrion has now been lumped with Cersei's debt from hiring the Golden Company - I guess they just hoped people would forget or not care about the Iron Bank.DjchunKfunK wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 10:44 amTyrion 'always pays his debts' so I don't think it was necessary to show him physically doing so.
Mind you, for all the bluster we hear about the Iron Bank always collecting their debts and being the one true power in the world, they're pretty useless. They calmly explained to Stannis why backing him would be a terrible idea, then backed him anyway after Ser Davos made an impassioned speech. That didn't end well for the bank. Cersei sent Mace "the Ace" Tyrell - the most blundering fool of all the great lords - to buy them some more time to repay the debt, and the Iron Bank was apparently fine with that. When Cersei eventually did repay the debt by pillaging Highgarden (the one remaining source of significant wealth in Westeros), the Iron Bank immediately offered to loan her money so she could hire an army. Not just any army, though - the Golden Company, who the Iron Bank depend upon to collect their debts.
Essentially the economy of both Westeros and Essos is in the toilet at the end of the season.

I wonder what the spin-off series will be like. I honestly expecting a Spartacus Blood & Sand experience, as in tons of blood and fucking, but not the highest production value. Saying that I loved Spartacus for how it just went with it unashamedly.
Arya disappearing off over the horizon could just give them options for a new story I guess.

Wasn’t Arya heading west before going faceless?

Re: Game of Thrones S8 (Here be spoilers)
The great TV show that shit the bed on its final innings and disappointed so many fans has had its prequel axed by HBO. No real reason given but I'm guessing it's due to the negativity around the whole thing.
Fuck the loss

Looks like they've had a change of heart and given it the green light.

That’s some confused reporting from the BBC as they’re two different shows (the original plan was for 4 prequel series). The Naomi Watts one was set thousands of years before GoT in Valyria, and that’s been cancelled. They’ve simultaneously greenlit House of the Dragon, which looks to be about Aegon’s invasion of Westeros, based on when it’s set.

I'm still confused, how many shows are they making now?
Re: Game of Thrones S8 (Here be spoilers)
From what I can tell, it was going to be 4 but now it'll be 3. They've really done everything they can to obfuscate their plans.
