An Ork appears at the door at S15 and fires at the Missile Launcher marine:

A Chaos Marine fires his bolter at the same marine:

Total:4

It had to happen sooner or later! That's 4 damage and the brave Marine falls to the ground.

An Ork moves to S19, fires and misses.

A Gretchin appears along side and also misses:

An Ork appears in the corridor and fires at the Imperial Fists Missile Launcher marine:
Misses!

A Chaos Marine and Gretchin both appear in the room and fire upon the Plasma marine!
Both miss!

These 2 white dice I've been firing with so far are tough to hit with..

So there we have it, my turn is over and it's handed back to the Ultramarines commander.

The Alien turn initially takes a little longer than I'd like it to take to keep things moving quickly, but the more aliens you kill the sooner I'll finish each turn.

I didn't realise that the line of sight worked like that. I thought they only basically only shoot in straight lines directly down an axis! So could my front two marines theoretically target any of those Orks in my quadrant?

Yep. It's only the Plasma Gun that shoots in straight lines (diagonal as well as the vertical/horizontal). All the other weapons can pick any target square as long as it has line of sight.

By the way Sly, you're still in great shape here. You've got all these aliens nicely grouped, especially for 1 weapon in particular!

It's normal to lose at least 1 marine early on.

That 2 is enough to beat the Ork's armour value and the Gretchin's, so you wipe out both of them.
