For the last few sessions we'd begun using Skype and an D&D website that gives you a visual map/overview of the area you're exploring, was working quite well.

That's fine. I've got my headset charging as we speak.

Yeah, sure I'll be ok still. I've still got my character sheet from last time, is there anything I should be doing with it?
At some point you’ll need to recreate Slythe on dndbeyond, but for this session your old character sheet should be fine.

Raid, you’ll need to go to roll20.net and sign up, then use this link to join the campaign:

I’m hoping we can use the built in audio tools, but we can use Skype as a fallback if there are any issues.

Not sure how reliant on that dndbeyond site you are guys, but as I noticed when I went on this afternoon to enter my character sheet it appears to be down for maintenance. Says for a few hours, but it's been down since 2pm now so has gone over that...

Yarrr, that’ll be an issue if it’s not back up by 8pm. :? I’ll keep an eye on it.

Grumble; wanted to go in and edit my character a bit before we started.

Mine still seems to be up, hadn't noticed it had gone down at all when I had a quick look at it earlier either.

It looks like it's up, but as soon as you try to edit something you get the read only message.

If it’s read-only then it’s not ideal but we should be okay.

Raid, if you could send me a link to your character (there’s a share button at the top of the character sheet) that’d be great.

Yeah, I was going to after I'd altered some bits, but I guess I'll just have to go with what I did at the weekend.

I think it may be back up. The red banner is still at the top but I was able to start the character creation process.

I don't know if I'll have time to finish it before we kick off tonight though. But hopefully by next time.

I don't mind waiting an extra ten mins or so if everyone wants to make sure their D&DB sheets are accurate. It doesn't take long to make a character on there if you already know what your stats and skills are.

Heh, I think making my character took me about two hours the other day, simply because I have bugger all experience with D&D.

I must say D&D Beyond is a great website mind. Everything on the character sheet comes with tooltips, and it looks like it does much of the calculations for you.
