Advanced Hero Quest: Quest I: The Halfling Cook - Completed
Re: Advanced Hero Quest: Quest I: The Halfling Cook
I'm assuming the rest of us will just sort of hover nervously in the doorway, hoping for the best?

Yep. South West Cornwall as well. It's okay, I was just getting wistful about it that's all.Sly Boots wrote: ↑Sun Aug 19, 2018 9:57 pmI'd offer, but I think you're in Cornwall aren't you mate? That's probably a bit much of a commuteMaturin wrote: ↑Sun Aug 19, 2018 9:54 pmCool. God, I'm *dying* to be able to play this regularly for real with someone and get a proper weekly campaign going again. It's really scratched that itch. Shame I don't know anyone round here who'd be up for it.
Anyway, I need to shoot off now so I'll join in again tomorrow..![]()
I tried a boardgame club a few years back, but they all play those card-based games these days which have never clicked with me. Say the words 'Advanced Heroquest' to them and they'd probably look at you quizzically before returning to their card deck combinations.

Ugh. Card games. Never been a fan of cards. The best thing about Advanced Hero Quest is that it doesn't use a single card.

The Champion had 4 HP and you have just knocked off 1 HP.
Does anyone else plan to do anything or shall I move on to the monsters?

I believe Gibnar could use his spear if he chooses?
Re: Advanced Hero Quest: Quest I: The Halfling Cook
Actually could I sneak in a ranged attack with my dagger?

You could, but you'd have to occupy the space that Gibby would occupy to attempt a spear attack. You're not allowed to attack into a room unless you're standing on the space directly in front of the door.

Ah okay, in that case I'll leave the Gibster to decide what he wants to do.
Re: Advanced Hero Quest: Quest I: The Halfling Cook
Move and attack! Please roll for me though, I cannot check this for a while!

On my turn I will perform a variety of card tricks to try and lift everyone's spirits.

Re: Advanced Hero Quest: Quest I: The Halfling Cook
You know, I was having some second thoughts allowing Gibnar to attack diagonally through the doorway, but I did some research and learned that in (not-Advanced) Hero Quest, it's a legal move to attack diagonally through a doorway. Look here:

Presumably it works the other way too, so we'll let it happen in this game without penalty.
However, Gibnar rolls:

Not enough to hit the Orc Champion. ¬_¬
Anyone else want to do anything? Looks like Terence is jammed in tightly between Paulox and Gibnar so he's not going anywhere. What about Paulox?
