That is so hilariously unnecessary when it's meant to just be an article about what happened around his involvement in Godus.

Gives off big 'journalist who wishes he was a fiction writer' vibes on top of being rather rude.

Why the fuck would anyone get involved in the modern gaming industry? There is utterly no job security. The more successful the studio, the more likely it is to be bought out and the more likely you are to be made redundant.

I'm not yet on board with the whole dooming of the game, but it does make you think just why exactly this game was given such an incredibly coveted slot right at the very close of the recent TGA which typically left for the biggest reveals of all, obviously. The game is due to release in 11 days time and there's been absolutely nothing since - which is bound to raise questions.

The more I've seen of it the more I've been interested on a positive fashion (much like Marathon tbf) and I was a long term player of the game Paladins a few years back which is the easiest comparison to be made. Considering the ex Respawn team behind it surely has to be given a relative chance to prove itself first (not that they are doing themselves any favours.)

Also, all 7 Shells revealed courtesy of new Bungie dev insight...

Which one would be your pick?

Well the fairly anticipated PoP remake is now officially dead, along with other Ubisoft being Ubisoft news...
Ubisoft New structure

Du Waubert said the new Creative House structure, which will start operating in early April, will focus on two strategic segments of open-world adventure and "game-as-service-native experiences". Each Creative House will house multiple studios working on a set of the company's gaming brands.

Vantage Studios, announced last year, will work on Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Rainbow Six franchises. Ubisoft has previously said it will contain the Montréal, Quebec, Sherbrooke, Saguenay, Barcelona, and Sofia studios

Creative House 2 will deliver competitive and co-op shooters, and will include brands like Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell and The Division

Creative House 3 will make "select, sharp Live experiences" including Brawhalla, For Honor, Riders Republic, Skull and Bones and The Crew

Creative House 4 will focus on immersive fantasy worlds and "narrative-driven universes" including Anno, Beyond Good and Evil, Might and Magic, Prince of Persia and Rayman

Creative House 5 is focused on family-friendly and casual games, including Just Dance, UNO, Hungry Shark, Invincible: Guarding The Globe and the company's licenced Hasbro titles.

On top of all this, the rumoured Black Flag remake is said to have now been delayed well into 2027.

Aye, I was pleasantly surprised by that. Shall be keeping an eye on it for sure.

Down in the depths, I’m a deep sea diver.”
But real talk, I was lyin’ like a scuba supplier —
Now it's time to bolt like a getaway driver!"

Anything published by Microsoft is going to have AI crowbarred into it at every opportunity, so will be a skip for me.

I wouldn't put it past them, but I didn't see anything to suggest there'd be AI shoehorned into Fable. I thought it looked pretty great.

It's a valid concern given how manic Microsoft's leadership seem to be with putting AI everywhere their customers don't want, but I agree, nothing in that looked like generative AI to me.

It's a business-wide mandate and devs/studios are under threat if they don't use it.

To elaborate, it's less a fear that Fable will be AI-generated garbage slop (though AI will have been used somewhere in its development, as mandated by Microsoft), but more a protest against practices I don't agree with and don't want to support even indirectly.

I don't think that's saying "put AI in games or else", it's saying they expect devs to use Co-Pilot and other AI tools to assist work, which (like it or lump it) is the reality of the majority of developers these days. 84% of devs use AI in some capacity now, according to an annual global Stack Overflow survey. I'm expected to use it at work as standard these days. Just to be clear, the sort of work I'd expect them to use AI for on something like Fable is "generate a script to do X", not "generate art assets to use in-game", though I could be wrong.
