That shop assistant did really well: despite the initial panic, she picked up the gun straight away, which is what caused him to change plans and make a beeline for the door.
Speaking of: that was quite an impressive exit on his behalf, jumping into the door. I am surprised it didn't rebound and hit him in the face.
