With a bit of chewing gum, a bar of soap and a bottle of hooch, you made yourself a bottle of Übermensch (all tests made with 2d20)!

Works until you're at 0HP.
:o

Quick question, do the effects of my potions stack, or would drinking this replace the previous effect (+4 to Slick)?

"Heck... I insist, sonny. Doc's orders!"

Doc will offer Cumflutter a smoke.

I'd say they stacked until you reach 0 HP.
My fire is more than can be made with forests,
My state more base than are the basest valleys;
I wish no evenings more to see, each evening;
Shamed, I hate myself in sight of mountains,
And stop mine ears, lest I grow mad with music.

He's actually doing fine now, HP wise, so the smoke's not necessary, but, hey, it won't do any harm!

I'll have a rest, some water and a smoke. Remind me what I need to roll?

So, d4 to rest, with a +1 for a smoke and a +1 for a drink of water.

Also, I have to apologise but I had completely forgotten about Jinx the dog throughout this adventure...

I can only assume you tied him up outside before you entered the ranch.

I expect he's picking through the ashes of the stable and gnawing on some barbecued clowns...

Incidentally, how is the chicken taking the death of his owner?

I believe the chicken was left with the horses, outside the ranch compound. It is now a masterless chicken.

I might have to include the chicken later in the story...

As the gang sits around enjoying an invigorating cigarette, beside the rapidly cooling corpse of their compadre, Doc will clear his throat and voice his thoughts.

"Welp, this is how I see it. The rest of the rooms seem to be empty of varmints, but I believe it's worth searching them in case the remaining safe code has been stashed there.

"It seems logical the remaining Loudmouth boys have turned tail and fled through yonder trapdoor, and it could behoove us to follow on down, and maybe have someone keeping watch on the well, where we know at least one of their burrows emerges. Jinx can help out there, as well.

"I'm all for torching this godforsaken place as well, although we'd do well to drag the safe outside once we're sure the last code fragment isn't inside."

He coughs. "Thoughts, gen'lemen?"

"Sounds like a plan. Seeing as the chicken is technically Roach's next of kin, we'll have to make sure it gets a good home and lives a long life. As for his master, I propose we lay him out on one of the tables with his earthly goods and burn this place to the ground. A worthy funeral pyre"

That's 3 total.

"Two Loudmouths are still out there, and one of 'em has a combo. I'm going down that well and into the tunnel again, 'gainst my better judgement. Anyone following, watch out for the croc."
