I watched it late at night which was a really dumb idea. The ending made me go all girly like

Possessor
Super weird and very bloody film by Brandon Cronenberg(son of David) and he definitely got his father's body horror vibe going on.

An asassin takes control of a person's body and uses them to commit a murder then kill themselves to cover the crime. She starts to lose touch with reality and shit gets odd...and very messy. Good film though if a little strange. Reminded me of Under the Skin but different.

The Hurt Locker

A modern war film that follows a team of Explosive Ordnance Disposal soldiers. Every scene in this is excellent; it's well shot, it's well acted, it's ridiculously tense... but there's very little narrative connecting any of them. Perhaps that's reasonable in the context of the film - the film is set during the recent Iraq war, and it doesn't follow front-line troops during the initial invasion. As a result it's quite static, so it's natural that there wouldn't be a three-act story. But it's still a film, not a documentary, and it doesn't really work for me.

Police Academy and Airplane!

Watched a bit of 80's comedies with my son. Police Academy was ok. Some racist bits, although that was mainly the characters doing it but it was still played for laughs :(

Airplane is still sublime. I'd forgotten how many lines I quote nowadays in everyday life. Just completely mad and I haven't heard my son laugh so much at a film before.

Oh and whilst not a film we've just finished the seventh (and last) season of Buffy the vampire slayer. What a ride. Now we have one last season of Angel to do.

Are you going to introduce your son to the Naked Gun films next? Nothing made me laugh harder as a kid.

Le Mans (1971)

Pretty decent for a film that had no shooting script 1/2 way through production. The story is mega pants and the dialogue is awful. It has one of the most miserable cows as a character, I mean think really French. What makes the film pretty decent is the racing and for a 1971 film a lot of it is really thrilling.

7/10
Games playing : Bioshock (Remastered) / Total War Britannia / Dirt 4

Watching Leslie Nielson reminded me so yes, I have got a copy of the first one :)
I'm also trying to get the tv series it was based on (Police Squad!)

I recently found out that Police Squad was cancelled because it had too many jokes in it. The executives didn't think the audience could keep up. A comedy series cancelled for being too funny.

Willy's Wonderland
Nicolas Cage is locked in an abandoned theme restaurant over night with possessed animatronic puppets. It's basically 5 Nights at Freddy's. Dumb as utter fuck but enjoyable. Cage is great as usual

Just watched it too. I rather enjoyed it, the missus did not and were usually on similar pages. I was really impressed by the world building on such a low budget, the pinball table looked great!
