E3 2020: CANCELLED

The ESA has confirmed that E3 will not be taking place this year due to the Coronorvirus. They have said that they are looking at the possibility of holding some kind of online E3 instead.

They cancelled probably out of no choice because budgets had to be paid like now and most likely all publishers pulled out - so there was no show to host !
Health and safety had nothing to do with it - no one wants to go and who can blame them

Yeah, after GDC I figured this was inevitable. Microsoft are likely cursing their luck, because with Sony absent they were likely going to be getting all of the headlines.

Not to mention that they had some sort of celebrity crap planned that even Geoff Keighley decided "I'm out"

To be honest part of me wonders if coronavirus is just a convenient excuse.
If theres no virus next year and they cancel again you know what happened.

Well, yeah. Why would developers choose to pay to exhibit at a digital E3 event when they can probably get paid by Microsoft or Sony to feature in theirs?
