This is a very nice little turn based roguelike game. It has a nice feature where you obtain currency through playing which you then use to unlock additional gameplay tiles, new heroes and skins etc.

Big sale on Far Cry titles this weekend too.

Oh, weird! I was just trying to remember the name of Prototype earlier when looking at the thread list on this very forum. Loved that game up until there were loads of tanks and I couldn't work out what the fuck I was supposed to do. Definitely gonna grab it for £4, I don't even know if my X360 will even turn on anymore. I thought it was a console-only game, though? Shitty port? Decent port?

Gah, it's been so long since I played it.

For what its worth I don't remember any issues, but it was a while and a few different PC set ups ago.

I'm sure Prototype was the port that was perfectly functional and Total Biscuit tore it to shreds because he was looking at the wall textures hidden behind big rubbish bins and complaining how low quality they were.

Not one of his finest moments but I'm sure it was this game. -_-

Yeah, I'm not really looking for "perfectly functional" in my games tbh.

You'd rather the port was shit? I meant in terms that it ran absolutely fine on the PC.

It's a pretty decent game for its age and being part of the open world craze that started picking up steam during the last console generation. I recall having quite a lot of fun with it on 360 once the crazier powers started coming into play.

Nah, I meant like "perfectly functional" sounds like it works, but only just.

I've installed Prototype now, and it's only capable of running at a dogshit resolution around 1280xsomething. Off to a shitty start.

Edit: tried to start a game and it completely crashed back to desktop.
Edit 2: Tried every combination of settings I can see (though there aren't many), and this immediately crashes as soon as you try to start a game. What a piece of shit. Refund requested.

Paradox Publisher Weekend is on, as Gibby reminded me today. Another good time to swoop in on any of their titles you don't feel great dumping a large initial outlay into, or maybe you have one already and just want to pickup a new DLC.

Cities: Skylines is about six quid, and it's a good vanilla game as far as I've played of it. Also a repeat of the EU4 deal I got into last year is there - all the core add-ons plus main game for about forty quid.
