The Gamers Arms

This was mentioned a week or two back in the Currently Playing thread, after which I think 4 of us had bought it. I've just played my first games tonight, and it's really quite a good laugh. It's also free on Android right now, if you don't fancy paying the 4 quid for the Steam version. Could we perhaps get a few together to play? My friends and I played with randoms tonight which was a bit rubbish, but when we returned to playing private matches we found that 4 is perhaps too few.

It's *much* better if you're all on voice chat, you miss the panic of having to come up with lies or defend yourself from being falsely accused with just text.

I've not bought it yet but I definitely would if it looks like we're getting a forum game together. I believe Snowy has it also and obviously Mantis does too. So, with me that would be four.

If we got at least one more that sounds like a laugh, and the Discord thing we've been using for D&D would work well for voice comms, I would assume?

Yeah, we were using Steam chat, but I've always preferred Discord. You just have to make sure you're able to mute your microphone, as it's best not to talk until you're in the discussion screen.

Btw, if anyone is semi-curious but not quite sure what it is, Outside Xbox is streaming a session with people from Eurogamer and Dicebreaker at some point tomorrow (Tuesday 29th):

I actually watched Outside Xtra's video on the game the other day to learn how to play.

One thing I learned from playing is that I need better lies.

I'm still up for a forum game if people are interested.

So, the weekend is approaching...

I'd be up for something, but if there's only four of us we'd need to play with at least one rando, I think, right?

Would prefer if we could find someone else on the forum willing to join in.

It works with four, but the game specifically says that it's better with more. I'd much prefer to tempt another forumite than use randoms.

Even if we get the four of us onto Discord and then let the server fill up with randoms it should work fairly well. It's always better with a full ten players in my experience and after a few leavers and bad eggs sift through you tend to get a decent enough group of players sticking around for a few games at a time.

Ok, well, we can give it a go I guess. I'm fairly clear this weekend.

Fine fine fine - i've picked this up, but acknowledge I'm notoriously bad at finding a time to meet with you all, although it would be fun! I do think my microphone got chewed up recently so i'll have to find a workaround for that!
