So, the game youve all been waiting for...
Eve Echoes
Or Eve Online mobile/tablet edition. It works! Its quite impressive actually. A little footery on a phone screen (or my non-stupid size phone screen) but it works. The onboarding is certainly much better than tghe last time I made a new toon in Eve but I still dont think its quite good enough and theres quite a few counterintuitive things going on not to mention the market interface is godawful. Its also very strange because its so very Eve Online but its also so very different - tackle and shields go in lows now, mids are reserved for drone mods, ewar and nos/neuts! Its perhaps a slot system slightly easier to understand but its going to be way less versatile in fitting a ship. At least Jita local is already filling with isk spammers so thats comforting.
Yeah seems like the did a good job but do I have the willpower to start from 0 again or the willpower to play solely on a touch device? I dont think I do.

Well that's 270 hours of my life gone,
AC:Odyssey finally finished.
Feel like I've lived it rather than played it.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Finished Legend of Grimrock. Lovely little game, although the sequel really opens things up and has much more variety. I'll play that at some point too.
I've decided to have another crack at GTAV, kinda ended up not having a great opinion of it first time round. I'll play the SP story mode again then I might dabble a bit online, although I'll probably play it in solo mode. I've heard it's a bit of a nightmare with griefers.

The Division
It's currently free on Xbox Gold so thought I'd give it a whirl. It has the usual plot and character dialogue that the person writing it probably thought was cool and edgy but is utter wank. It's a Tom Clancy game, your not really here for the story. What about the action? It's also wank, even the most basic enemy is a fucking bullet sponge that can hit you from any distance and one shot you immediately if your unlucky. I'm only rank 5 so maybe it gets better once I get better loot but I fear the enemies also level up with you making progress an utter grind.
Do like the music though

Once I had digested that The Division was never going to be the game I wanted it to be from the initial trailers (post-apolalyptic strategic shooter) and was just another MMO, I enjoyed some time playing it. Picked up Divsion 2 a while back for Β£1-something and got bored mighty quickly, it is identical to the first but in a less evocative setting than NYC.

Personally I think the Division 2 was a massive improvement over the first game. The setting might not be as interesting but the stuff you actually do is a lot better designed, the "dungeons" in 2 are some of the best content I have played in any of these service type games and the classes and specialist weapons are a lot more interesting that anything they did in the first game. I'm surprised that they keep giving away the first game especially as the monetisation possibilities are probably fairly low.

I do love be the setting and the city seems to be very detailed but there doesn't seem to be anything to do in it as in there's nothing to explore. Hopefully I'm wrong on that, would be a complete waste otherwise.

Picked up Among Us off a recommendation from a friend and hadn't noticed that it's blown up on Twitch recently.
Hilarious social deduction game with simplistic mechanics. Up to 10 players on a space ship with tasks to fix various things whilst one is an imposter who's trying to sabotage the ship and kill everyone. MS Paint art style with basic control mechanics (you basically just need your mouse and left click) as it was a mobile game first off. The only time you can text chat is during votes, where the crew gathers to discuss who they think is the imposter and votes to eject someone from the airlock. Votes are called either when someone finds evidence of a crime and reports it (ie. a dead body) or via a special emergency meeting button which every player can do once per game. Meanwhile the imposter is moving around trying to catch people alone so he can shank them.
It's 4 quid and I've had an absolute blast with it so far. Better with friends as it reduces the chance of getting nobbers in your lobby. But despite its super simplistic design, it's some of the most fun I've had with a multiplayer game in ages.

Maybe we could get a forum session going, I'd definitely be up for that at Β£4.

I'd be happy to hop on with anyone wanting a game. The actual interactions you have with each other are fairly limited during the chat section and I found being on mics with friends only made it harder as it was hard not giving information away, which isn't really in the spirit of the game even if you are all on the same team.
It'd certainly make getting a full lobby easier if a few peeps from the forum wanted to play though.

Sure, I'll bite at four quid.
