Of course Tim.
Not sure the 30% cut is the number 1 issue facing the PC at the moment, as he claims further up in that chain.

Epic is such an altruistic company, it brings a tear to one's eye. If only other companies that fragment markets via paid exclusives that strong arm consumer bases were so altruistic, the world would be a better place.
Meanwhile did you know that shit can sometimes smell like roses ! Its true.

Two things that strike me about this. Firstly you can't tell whether a game has done better on the Epic Store than it would have done on Steam if the game only comes out on EGS. Secondly there was a big push on Twitch for
What it does tell me though is that studios and publishers are trying their hardest to justify making their games exclusive.

On Friday I had a meeting with Greenmangaming in their office in London and they explained the economics and the difficulties in running a digital store. It was really fascinating. It is really a difficult space to be in and very cut throat.

If you want to find the numbers release on both and see where the money flows in from and settle it once and for all. Let's be honest they won't as they are to scared if it shows steam gets the most. It might be in their favor but again to fearful to do it.DjchunKfunK wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 4:13 pmhttps://www.pcgamer.com/uk/world-war-z- ... clusivity/

Re: Epic Games launch their Steam competitor
Dangerous Driving and Metro Exodus are now available to buy on the Humble Store and Borderlands 3 is available to pre-order. Epic have also postponed all the updates for the store that were due in April with most now due sometime in May.
Since the Polygon expose on the working conditions at Epic I find the whole exclusivity stuff so icky. Epic basically building the store via the exploitation of their workforce. Makes Sweeny's talk about the store being all about helping developers seem rather hollow.

Also, is it EGS keys being sold on Humble? I had a look but wasn't sure. In any event, it's still £50 there so not for me I think.

Yes it's EGS keys. Dangerous Driving is cheaper than on the Epic Store, the rest are the same price unless you have the 10% off on Humble from being a subscriber.

Re: Epic Games launch their Steam competitor
Outer Wilds is the next game to go exclusive on the Epic Game Store. It's another game that went through crowdfunding on Fig and promised stuff like a Linux version alongside the Steam version which obviously wont be happening for a while. Hopefully they do the decent thing, like Phoenix Point and offer refunds to backers who want them.
