It honestly feels like Bethesda have lost their way as a game developer, maybe even beyond simply getting left behind and still making games as if it's 2009.
For the first time with one of their games it feels like ES6 is going to be a wait-and-see for me, rather than a day 1 purchase.

Maybe they should take a break from the usual stuff and just remake Terminator Future Shock. Its 30 years old this year...

When you look at what CDPR and Larian are setting as the bar, it's increasingly difficult to defend some of Bethesda's design choices and level of quality these days. Don't get me wrong, I do love Starfield and I'll be all over ES6, but that's because I'm very much their target audience.
What did give me a shred of hope the other day was that the UESP team (who make the excellent Elder Scrolls wiki, which is night and day better than any other RPG wiki ever made) were invited to Bethesda to have a sneak peak at ES6, and while they went in with skepticism and concerns, they claim they left genuinely excited for what's coming.
