This song takes a bit more getting used to but now may be my favourite more than Genesis.

Re: Currently Listening
I'm listening to Balrog's latest release: The Dark Tower.
One of the better Dungeon Synth acts.

Between tedium and fright
Such is the song of the nether world
The hissing of rats
And the jarring chants of angels

Empath has leaked. My copy hasn't arrived in the post yet so I caved in because I have a free evening.
It is simply glorious. Especially the mixing and production.
Edit: That's the bonus disc done as well now. Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor. This whole piece of work is Ocean Machine/Terria level of quality.

I'm still spaffing over Empath, but there's a new Rammstein track out too ahead of their album next month.
It's been an excellent three months for music
And Devy released another Empath single.

I'm listening to Empath now. It's… an experience so far!
Some smashing tracks here, but I'm not sure I'll listen to it as an entire album like some of his other work. We'll see.

Yeah it's a heck of a thing, Empath. Enjoying it.
Also, RAMMSTEIN!

Periphery have "leaked" their new album which is due out on Friday. If you liked their previous effort, you should like this.
I've listened to the pre-released tracks already last week which we quite different to each other, but good in their own way.
I've just listened to the opening track at nearly 17 minutes long and already reckon this is going to get a lot of listening time from me. Lots to unpack here!

Re: Currently Listening
I keep coming back to this one when I'm in a somber mood, as I am today. It really helps:

Pavarotti. Anything I can get my hands on. Particulary videos where I can watch him create perfection effortlessly.
As a genre it does nothing to me really, but as an individual it looks like he does nothing but sounds like he does everything. It's bizarre.

The new Meytal album (The Witness) also came out on Friday, so I've given that a couple of spins. There's some singles on YouTube (Armalite, Broken Circus Ride) if you want a listen. Meytal is a drummer mainly known for doing drum cover videos on YouTube, she did a Kickstarter a few years ago for her first solo album, had some great help.
This time around, they've got Sahaj from Ra doing rhythm guitar and vocal duties – he's one of my favourite singer/songwriters, so I was keen to hear him let loose on this album.
It's not bad on the whole, there's some cracking tracks… but it just feels a little on the tame side. It never quite rocks hard enough for me. Not sure if it's the weak guitar tone, the overall production, or what.

This Periphery album is rather good isn't it. Really digging the full on EDM style track towards the end.Drarok wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2019 11:08 amPeriphery have "leaked" their new album which is due out on Friday. If you liked their previous effort, you should like this.

It really is! I ripped the audio from YouTube so I could listen on my phone on my walk to/from work, and blasted it in the car the other day when I went shopping. Some really top stuff in there, and surprisingly varied (like the EDM one you mention, and also the pop-punky almost-radio-friendly It's Only Smiles).
