Very catchy pop rock where the videos are just the band members bouncing around in random locations.

I messed around today with some pedal-stacking and the Telecaster that my mate made for me. I decided to add some vocals too as it's been a while since I recorded any so I enjoyed the practice. It's a pretty nice wee tune, soft with plenty of soupy delays.

“I ain’t a thief — I’m McGuyver, underwater survivor!
Down in the depths, I’m a deep sea diver.”
But real talk, I was lyin’ like a scuba supplier —
Now it's time to bolt like a getaway driver!"

That opening guitar riff sounds oddly familiar if you watched the 90's X-Men cartoon...

So I just discovered this Swedish band, Limbo, who have released their first full album after collating a couple of years worth of singles together. I would say it's a pretty fresh sounding take on technical death metal/djent with a smattering of ambient sections and classic Meshuggah influenced fusion-y solos, but all wrapped up in more traditional song structures so they aren't all over the place.

Suffice to say I think they sound absolutely excellent. It seriously grooves hard at times.

Listening to SUNN O)))'s Metta, Benevolence having just consumed a bottle of Hobgoblin Ruby Beer, while watching sun-beams pierce between the distant clouds from my home-office window, and I'm in some kind of transcendental state.

My fire is more than can be made with forests,
My state more base than are the basest valleys;
I wish no evenings more to see, each evening;
Shamed, I hate myself in sight of mountains,
And stop mine ears, lest I grow mad with music.
