I was absolutely expecting it given that I think I heard one of the team selling a thousand of the thousand pounds bikes during the task.

Just watched it last night. I still have to shout at the screen when everyone is berating themselves in the boardroom 'But you made half a million in orders!'. That's a pretty successful day on my book.

The PM on the winning side should be breathing a fucking huge sigh of relief, she would have been ejected at light-speed if they had lost.

Even though it meant Thomas staying in another week, I'm glad the above team lost.

I do like how the American woman thought that there had to be a trick behind every item; I'd have loved to see her ripped to pieces in the boardroom for the new pre-WW2 book, though I think it's the first time I've seen an idea that stupid actually rectified.

I do like it when items can have some lateral thinking to it but if any candidate has ever watched any episodes before (if not, why the heck would you apply?!) they would see that anything taking the piss gets a hefty fine.

I do feel for the candidates as without my phone and instant google I'd struggle with indentifiying a load of them, even though I think I know the answer I'd be second guessing myself.

The production crew must enforce so many limitations on the candidates for 'filming' stuff. One time three candidates walked off camera saying "the water is this way", but the camera never panned with them like usual and then they 'funnily' walked back into shot to go the opposite direction. That's good tv but not natural...
Or could they just flag down the first cabbie they see and ask them all the questions and get them taken there?
Or use the computer in the library.
Or not split up. Or split up more.

Bring on the interviews, the only bit that I genuinely look forward. I never get over the shock of how much people lie on their CVs... something I have honestly never done.

I wouldn't say I was warming to Thomas exactly, but he is at least friendly with everyone and is genuinely good at bartering. Lottie on the other hand is horrible to almost everyone she interacts with and is hopeless at negotiating. She has the personality of a spiteful robot.

She's awful, isn't she? It's endlessly amusing though seeing her getting voted down each week for PM because she's alienated everyone already.

That said, this week's task was one where you needed a posh bird and tbf she knew what all the esoteric items were while the other team struggled even when being told by a shopkeeper that Toad was a distillery in Cambridge.

Whereas my wife does it habitually, despite the fact it's often unnecessary and she always gets called on it.

Like the time under 'interests' she put Mah-Jong, a game to my knowledge she has never played. Of course it was the first question in the interview

Only yesterday she had another interview and she'd made up the dates of her work history to cover the fact she had a lot of short-term odd jobs when we moved to Bath, and again it got questioned. Apparently she aced the rest of it but is sweating over that detail as she's worried it made her look dishonest

It's definitely something I've learned as I've got older. Never tell lies even if you get into trouble (with the missus or at work or between friends) as it's way more stressful trying to remember what you've said/not said/made up etc.
My simple brain needs honesty and no fancy thinkin'.

Why would anyone apply? Surely the only question on the interview paper is "Are you a deluded Edwin with awful taste in clothes and a total wanker to boot, who is happy to get 5 seconds of fame humiliating yourself with a bunch of like minded should-have-been-a-wanks?"
