Taking the glass half-full option, perhaps not being based on a series of beloved novels, the latter of which have yet to be written, may work in its favour?
If anything, the absence of Dan Weiss and David Benioff will work in its favour.

Yeah, that could be good, and if it's in the hands of people genuinely passionate about the franchise.

3 years after the last show ended with so many fans having just given up on the whole thing might be a hard sell. Make new stuff instead instead of dead horse flogging maybe.
With Lord of the Rings and Wheel of Time shows coming out soon it looks like the high fantasy genre is in for a good old milking.

There's that air of something that cost an insane amount of money to make yet still looks low budget about this, a bit like Jupiter's Legacy. At least we get a good look at the trollocs this time.

Christ, was their composer getting paid by the drumbeat?
Also, second series of Squid Game has been confirmed.
Had to be done.
The creator's announcement definitely made it seem like it was more 'by popular demand' than anything he'd initially planned, so hopefully they can keep up the high quality.

Given how it ended and some of the plot threads left dangling, I struggle to believe he didn't write it while considering the likelihood of a second season being picked up. If he only wanted or expected it to be one season, there were some weird creative choices.

The last 30mins was just awful though. I'm not sure I have much faith.
Inevitable once the other star treks started moving. Picard will probably leave amazon at some point.
Yet another streaming service.
I thought Picard S2 had already gone to Paramount+?
From what I've seen so far the decision to tell international fans 3 days before it was due to show on Netflix is about as popular as anthrax in a lift.
You'd almost think they want people to pirate.
