Indeed, this game was almost the sole reason I upgraded to a 3070, I'd probably have waited until the new year otherwise, when stock and prices had normalised.

OK, those last few things I've seen have actually increased my interest now in this. Time to wait for a 3080 though...

There is supposed to be a huge day one patch and I'm wondering if the review code had this on board or not.

Although I did have a feeling there would be disappointment from some people, another case of years upon years of hype.

Eurogamer haven't posted their review of the game yet (the author wanted more time with it before giving a verdict), but have said that they've been playing with the day 0 patch (some 30gb of update) and the game is still a bit of a mess, bugs-wise.

Honestly the impression that I'm getting is to wait. I'm still undecided whether I'll be getting it for thursday or not; my current PC specs aren't going to do the game justice anyway, and I'm beginning to think I'm better off waiting.

So it's a tad buggy then.

Probably best waiting for the inevitable enhanced edition some way down the line.

I'll still be playing it on launch day... non-ultra fast broadband connection depending. I don't get put off by a bit of jank tbh.

Review scores are a bit all over the place, shame that they crunched their developers into the ground and still put out a buggy mess. I feel for all the people who have been working like crazy who will now have to continue working to fix the game post release.

I have the game pre-ordered and I'll be giving it a shot on Thursday but if it is too buggy then I'll probably put it down till after Christmas and give AC: Valhalla a shot instead.

Likewise I have no shortage of things to play. Will take a look on Thursday and do likewise.

It's available on CDKeys (GOG version) for £40.99. It just so happened that christmas money came through today, so I've bought it. I'll install it on thursday just to see what performance is like, but I think I'll probably leave it until next year.

Think I'll wait until next year when new consoles are more available before I have a go. Was going to get on release but sounds like it still needs a bit of work.

I'd already decided to wait until Christmas when I've got a couple of weeks off to play it, so touchwood they'll have ironed out the worst issues by then.

I'm with Sly, though - I can live with some jank. :) If I got through the likes of Vampire: Bloodlines and Boiling Point on release (in which you could unintentionally destroy a police station with an arrow), I'm sure I'll cope with this. I'd take an over-ambitious mess over an unambitious smooth-sailor any day.

Exactly. I know a lot of people hear the word bugs and run for the hills, but in addition to Bloodlines I've happily played the Gothic games (any of PB's games actually, including the Risen games and Elex), played ME Andromeda, Oblivion and Skyrim on release, and even found charm in weird Eastern European games that scored 40% in reviews (specifically Precursor). I'd prefer a bug-free experience of course, but I'd be very surprised if they spoiled my experience of Cyberpunk.
