In any case, this is looking pretty damn good - basically it's a strategy game where you run your own mafia empire, with XCOM-like tactical missions and some RPG elements as well.
It's pretty much the middle of a Venn diagram of everything I love, so unsurprisingly I shall be canarying this one.

Yeah this has been on my radar for some time, keen to see how it plays.
Reviews are all over the place, some good, some bad, most meh, but all seem to agree it's been released in a very buggy state and the game balance is off so that it renders most of the strategy element moot.
What a shame

That's a shame. I have pre-ordered via CD Keys so don't have the option to cancel - let it serve as a reminder of the perils of pre-ordering.
I am not too worried though, first off it didn't cost me much to pick up, but more importantly it sounds like the core of a good game is there and I am in no hurry, so happy to let them patch it up.
Will give it a good hard canarying anyhow and report back.

It's rare for Paradox to produce an absolute duffer and their post-game support is thorough, so I'm hopeful that in a few weeks or months it will be in good shape. I'm in no rush but will pick it up if and when it reaches that state.

This is more a case of Paradox just being the publisher rather than it being something like a CK or EU game so I think it's a slightly different situation. Game sounds like it is one of those that might be in a better state in 6-12 months time.

Ah, didn't realise Paradox aren't the developers for it. I still think it looks promising, and there are a fair few positive reviews among the negative ones.

Really early days - I have only put in about an hour as have not had any game-time to speak of. Tonight I will put in some more and report back.

My refund from CD Keys just processed, so I'll wait and see for a while, and see if the issues reported with the game can get sorted out through updates. It sounds like the basis for a good game is there.

Had very little PC time of late - from the hour or two I have played the core of a decent game is there, but I have encountered bugs too. Started a fight and my UI was missing, meaning I could do nothing. Looks like it will be funbut at the same time I would have refunded it if not bought via CD Keys - RDR2 Online has a load of new content that I am meandering through, Cyberpunk is about to be released and I have already bought that - I don't really need EoS at the moment, bit of a silly purchase.

It's too late now but in case it comes up in the future, you can refund through CD Keys, as I did.

Obviously this was a big disappointment, but if you retain some curiosity but don't want to pay cash monies for it, it goes onto Game Pass for PC tomorrow.

I might give it a whirl.
I've read some of the updates since it launched and it sounds like it might have addressed some of the bigger concerns.

Cool, sounds like a good time to give it a go in that case.
