Re: Star Wars: Squadrons
Minor details from the trailer that probably nobody else will care about;
-Both Wedge Antilles and Hera Syndulla appear among the Rebel pilots
-The red stripes on the wings of the TIE Interceptor were used by the 181st Imperial Fighter Wing, part of the old expanded universe. This was the unit of the Empire's best fighter pilot, Soontir Fel, and they would later pilot TIE Defenders.
-The TIE Bombers appear to have some new laser cannon weapon, which is vaguely reminiscent of the weapon used on the prototype B-Wing in Rebels.

Valve seem to be experimenting with those stealthy facebook ads where you arent sure if its an ad or not at first....

Sorry bout that. My wish for another X-Wing/TIE Fighter game takes me to that dark place whenever that beautiful open goal is so wilfully missed...Achtung Englander wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 4:31 pmwow that came from a dark place, and I am not referring to your bum
5v5 multiplayer, for fucks sake...

Will I be able to make my pilot look like a gender fluid wookie who is in a non-binary open relationship with a transgender Jawa? That's my main concern

Re: Star Wars: Squadrons
Looks like the gameplay mechanics might be decent. Yes, the multiplayer focus is disappointing, but I think I'll be giving this a shot.

Re: Star Wars: Squadrons
Looks really nice I must say. Having played the recent Battlefield games and seeing how the air combat in that turned out I won't be tempted by this. I could never get the hang of it and you had a few players that just annilitated everyone making it next to impossible to progress.
Re: Star Wars: Squadrons
I'll be trying the beta or demo before I buy it. Every EA shooter has ultimately become really stale for me after about five or six hours, there's something about the core experience of the recent iterations of the Frostbite engine that I find really boring.
Also, air combat in Battlefield plus the ship combat in Battlefront 2 was really not great. If they've just carbon copied the dog fighting from Battlefront and it feels exactly the same then I'll definitely be passing this up.

Re: Star Wars: Squadrons
So EA have confirmed that the game supports a HOTAS setup. As someone who owns nearly a grand's worth of flight sim hardware, not even including the VR headset, this makes me happy.

So that's a modern Star Wars flight sim with HOTAS and VR support. For the love of god EA, just make a full length single player game with this as a base.

Re: Star Wars: Squadrons
Absolutely - make it a blinding SP experience and bolt on the MP bits for those who want them.
They won't of course, but it would be nice...

Re: Star Wars: Squadrons
You can't sell people cosmetic shit in a single player game, that's the bottom line.
