S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2
Re: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2
1.01 patch is out apparently (10.39GB). I have only been running the timescale mod and UE dev tools so far, so will see what the game is like after the patch and go from there.

Over 650 issues fixed.
Woooo!!!

Many players had complained that STALKER 2 was too hard, and this patch has taken solid steps to address this. Weapon and armor repair costs have been decreased, while armor durability across the board has been increased by 12.5%. Damage from several STALKER 2 enemies has also been moderately reduced, including Controllers, Burers, Boars, and Fleshes. Damage dealt to these enemies has been increased, while Bloodsuckers have had their HP regeneration outside of combat nerfed.

I believe the patch broke a bunch of stuff and affected modded games so they had to release a new patch to fix that. It's probably going to be like this for a good while until they get it right.

I guess I'll set this aside for a little while then

Re: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2
From what I've played, it's mostly great and has offered some really memorable moments so far. My major gripe is the spawn distance for enemies, was walking near the Sphere base and had been scoping it out, noticed the watch towers were empty up until I got within 100m or so. Did some reading and this is a known thing. You can't even see the enemy from tower to tower.
So, scoping out a base to make a plan of attack is a bit up in the air, but I have been loving the closer quarters encounters and exploring the lesser zone.
There are a couple mods to aid this issue, but apparently performance heavy and can mess with quests down the line. I may also put the game down for a bit as I've plenty more to play anyway, and I've also just finished a replay of the Metro series, so I've had a good fill of Eastern desolation and mutants/bandits.

I just had a trip over to Rostok. My, what memories! They have done a brilliant job of the original areas in this game. Everything feels in the right place and size. Barkeep is still at the Bar! I went out back and had a fun worm jump to a blueprint, which was more than amusing!

Where to find some of the better weapons and armor in Garbage.
Re: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2
I got a Saiga 12 from the junkyard west of Rostok, did the anomaly dodge to get the bag too, great punchy shotty that. Off up into Yanov atm to get the traders open and upgrade it a little.

Can they definitely do it? Because I stashed one of those in my storage all game and ended up selling it when I'd explored 80% of the map and still hadn't found anywhere that could do it

Has the update improved game play or is everyone pretty much running it modded? I'm not at home for a few days so won't get to play it for a bit.
Re: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2
Yes, it's a good gun...the trader there has a Ram too, even better!

Haha I can't join gun discussions since patching in the irl names of them, not sure which ones you are talking about
I found a SPAS 12 shotty on a dead bad guy which I have kept, even thought the magazine reload version has more utility.
