As someone who uses various transport methods:

• Cyclists who don't adhere to any fucking road laws:
  • Red lights? Nah.
  • One-way street? Fuck it.
  • Road busy? Let's cycle on the pavement and get huffy when pedestrians don't move out of the way.
• Drivers who are completely incapable of thinking about anyone other than themselves:
  • Using the wrong lane at a roundabout.
  • Using the wrong lane at a T junction – there's no possible way this is accidental.
  • Parking/waiting in stupid fucking places that block the flow of traffic, causing jams.
• Pedestrians who are utter fucking morons:
  • Stepping out into the road without looking.
  • Stepping into the road without looking only a couple of meters away from an actual fucking crossing with traffic lights on.
  • Crossing a side street without even a glance at whether any vehicles are entering or exiting that road.
• Bus/train wankers:
  • Get your filthy feet off the seat, there are even signs telling you not to be a cunt about it, you cunt.
  • Let people get off the god damn train or bus before you try to barrel on, you inconsiderate lackwit.
  • Move your fucking bag off the seat next to you so that more people can sit down, you utter utter fuckwad.

This is an advert I saw on the side of a Eurogamer page a few minutes ago. It's from a company called Roli, who make interesting midi instruments. If you click on it, it takes you to a Kickstarter page for the item being advertised at 40% off. The discount, it transpires, is because they haven't actually produced it yet.

When did it become normal for companies to use Kickstarter? Are we to believe that traditional R&D budgets no longer exist? I can sort of understand why indie game producers or brand new startups use it, but this is an established company begging for investment from the general public. They're then advertising it like a pre-order, which is a really problematic use for crowdfunding services, because that's absolutely not what they're supposed to be used for. There's no guarantee that Kickstarter projects will ever see the light of day, and if they don't, there's no guarantee that investors (they're not customers) will get any money back.

Hot weather. Any weather in positive degrees Celsius is above my preferred temperature, but fuck me 24c is too much. If I was in France or Spain I'd be heading underground to live with the mole people at this point.

I get that for a lot of people this is ideal weather, but surely everyone can agree that nights in these temps are an utter ratbastard?

In fairness, I think living with the mole people would be sound medical advice for many Europeans at this point. It's going to hit 37 degrees in Madrid today.

I've only once experienced that sort of heat (38c when I was a kid on holiday near Salisbury). I remember thinking that I may as well have been on fire.

Even hotter on Saturday, it looks like. I'm going to melt.
