The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Question; cursed weapons - does the curse traditionally mean you literally can't put the weapon down, say to swap to a different weapon but keeping the cursed one on your person?
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Off the top of my head, being attuned to an item doesn't break when you put the item down so long as you're within so many feet of it and don't go beyond that range for a set period of time. The conditions of cursed items usually mean that you can't un-attune from the item until the curse is broken, so you could put the item down and even leave it somewhere for weeks beyond the range of what would normally break a regular attunement, but the curse would remain and the item would stay attuned to you.
Unless the item specifically states that you can't put it down of course.
I'm 80% certain that's how it all works.

Yeah, sounds right to me. I’m sure I’ve read the description of at least one cursed sword where you literally can’t let go of it, which raises all sorts of logistical questions for the poor sod involved. Dexterity saving throw each time they need a wee?
100%. I’ve been using it for a few months now and it’s a superb tool. It even lets you roll monster attacks and stuff from the tracker now, which is fantastic.
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
I know it's a bit early, but how are we looking for next week? Only reason is that I'm trying to arrange a gaming night and Wednesday or Thursday are the two likely options, and I wouldn't want to miss a D&D night.
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
I should be fine for either night.
Also, Sly - I had a look for your new character to go over it but I can't see it in the campaign. I think you should be able to send me a link to the actual character sheet if it's public, or add it to the campaign as private if not.

Ah, ok. I couldn't see a way to add him to the current campaign, so I'll PM over the linkWrathbone wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 1:25 pmI should be fine for either night.

Alright, can we go with our usual thursday?
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Sounds like a plan.
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
So... I've just realised that Raid and Mantis have picked the same class for their new characters. Sods law, eh.
I never want to say anyone can't play a class, but it could get troublesome down the line. Happy to hear any thoughts.

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Any opportunities for multi-classing or different specialisations to take them down different routes?

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Yeah, that's always a possibility. As long as everyone's on the same page and happy with it, I've no objections, but generally in a party of 3 it would make sense to have 3 different classes.
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
I guess we have the sidekicks to add some variety? Are they only for combat purposes, or do they have some utility in general play (ie if I have a rogue sidekick could they sneak in and infiltrate somewhere?)

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
They can certainly come into play outside of combat, but I see them more as Lancelot's dogsbody, Patsy, from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. They do what they're told, take an arrow as required, etc. The depth and extent of their character beyond utilitarian purposes is up to you guys if you're running them.
