Re: The 'Look What the Postman Brought Me' Thread - Normal Edition
I got a text from my mum last night: "The communists have sent you a parcel"
"...wut?"
"Communists PLC Newcastle it says."
I stick that into Google and get suggested a correction, so I reply to mum.
"Do you mean Communisis PLC? If so then it looks to be my online-banking pack."
"Oh yeah letters faded lol"

Re: The 'Look What the Postman Brought Me' Thread - Normal Edition
The postman brought me these yesterday:
Rules for playing Warhammer in a historical setting. Ancient Battles are the core rules, covering all periods from the early Bronze Age to the Middle Ages. Chariot Wars is an expansion book, focussing on army lists for most of the civilisations of the Ancient Near East, including (to my delight) rules for Israelite tribesmen, Philistines and Midianites for Biblical battles.

Gentlemen, it's been far too long.
Some new wares for the horde.
This has been over the course of a year and change so there hasn't been a lottery win or anything.
Hope you're all keeping well.

Judge Dredd: Yeah?

That's the sort of thing I'd love to own. I can't say I'm a fan of Luke's helmet design, it's Poe Dameron's I'd go for given the choice, but I don't think I realised how vibrant the colours on it are.
Do you have many hand props Tank? I'm having aspirations of starting a collection one day, but it's things like firearms, swords, that sort of thing. I seem to recall you having a Lawgiver, anything else?

Being a big fan of all three of those FF particular games I couldn't resist. I was actually only browsing at the time to buy the second item. I'm also a huge fan of the Metal Gear series and I've always been fascinated by Yoji Shinkawa's artwork.
The FF book is nice enough with some very cool design stuff in. The MGS collection is just a pure brilliant tome of a frankly ridiculous amount of content.
Only problem is that I'm now feeling increasingly tempted to buy more video game art books.

It's a slippery slope fella.
I don't even like MGS and I've hovered over that collection a few times myself.

Even if you're not a fan I'd say it's probably worth it from a purely art book collector standpoint. Each book must come in at 300+ pages each, one is all black and white pencil sketches and character design with concept notes, the other is full of luscious fully formed inked art.
I've been considering trying my hand at drawing again and these pieces are incredibly inspiring.

It's a tad on the expensive side for me to impulse buy just now, but it's on my list for sure.
A good wee site for art book reviews is...

He does movie stuff and all sorts too.
