Yeah, that's probably ok, in the past if it's a big present like that we've asked the grandparents to chip in as well, so that should work.

Of course if she has an iPad, an Apple Pencil and Procreate would do the job too for someone dipping their toe in the water. Not as fancy shmancy as Preys stuff of course, but could be more affordable if you can utilise existing devices.

Yeah, she doesn't have an iPad unfortunately.

It's ok, though, I think I've got something suitable lined up now :)

You say unfortunately but I'd view that as more of a good thing. :)

Happy birthday to little Boots jnr when the big day comes.

Thanks :) It's a while off, though, December. I'm just being stupidly proactive after my wife mentioned it last night, as I know otherwise I'll forget all about it until the night before

As has no doubt come across in the questions I've asked of some people (sorry Raid ) I'm a complete novice at this stuff. I've found something on Amazon I think is the sort of thing I'm imagining:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Galaxy ... th=1&psc=1

It seems significantly cheaper than a lot of the other self-contained options I've looked into, just wondering what the thoughts are of people who know a lot more about this stuff than me?

I don't know about drawing and stuff, but I'd be wary of buying a three-year-old Android device. How are Samsung on software updates these days?

Is it 3 years old? The specs say this model was launched last October :?

There are multiple Galaxy Tab S6 Lites, one launched in 2020 and another in 2022 with a newer processor.

Because Samsung hate consumers, I guess.

Ah, sorry for the misinformation then!

Why is it not the S7?!

It's that time again...

I'm in a very different place to where I was last October. I have a job that I like and the ability to sleep for more than 4 hours a night. However making these changes took a lot out of me; I'd swapped from working 16 hours a week from home, to 36.5 hours with an extra ten hours walking, and I just didn't have the time or energy to put into drawing so didn't pick up a pen for 4 or 5 months. Things have calmed down a bit now, I work from home two days a week and get a lift home for some of the rest, so I've regained some of the lost time.

Still, I need a project that'll get me back into drawing regularly, and so I'm doing Inktober again. I still don't have as much time as I used to, so I'm intending on limiting myself to just black ink (unless simple colour would really add something), and there'll probably not be any painting as it's really time consuming.

Anyway, enough talking.

Nice line work.

I've been trying to push myself through the anxiety barrier to get back into drawing lately. Tempted to see if the Inktober challenge is any use for that.

I guess it'll depend on what the anxiety is surrounding. Prior to me doing this last year, I had huge feelings of inadequacy about my art ability, to the point where I wouldn't draw anything at all because I just assumed it wouldn't be good enough. Inktober helped me push through that, gave me just a little bit of focus and direction to get me started. It made me produce *something* every day, but because of the obvious time constraints it took some of the pressure off as even with all the positivity in the world, I knew that I wouldn't be making a masterpiece every day for a month.

Really good start! Look forward to see what comes next, although...spiders? Not my favourite creatures :)
