Signatures

Post by Rossell » Mon Jun 08, 2020 9:31 am

I've got to sign something important later. I don't have a proper signature I just write my name, there are a couple of elements that can help me distinguish it. I've tried cursive and it's never worked. Would this be much of a problem? I don't really wanna screw this up. Thanks.

It should be fine as it can be whatever you want it to be. I once asked someone who deals with important signed documents on a regular basis whether they ever actually check signatures, and unless they've some other reason to be suspicious then they don't. It's a really daft and pointless means of identification in the 21st century.

You write your name how you write your name mate, that's kind of the point of it. I've never been able to do "fancy" writing so just concentrated on it being legible. If your determined to make it a bit more swish looking then I'd practice looping some letters together, like for example if you signed Rossell try getting the e and the l's to join. That probably doesn't help but it's what I'd do.

Doesn't even need to be legible, mine certainly isn't!

As someone who checks tens of signatures a day, it can be whatever you want it to be. Your full name, something that vaguely looks like your name, or a squiggle that bears no resemblance to your name. Mine's probably the latter, partially because I have to sign 50 things a day and I don't have time to spend ages doing a fancy signature.

I like drawing a cock and balls on the wee thing delivery drivers give you to sign. No one has noticed to this day.

It's a bit late in life to be worrying about this, so don't.
