Why is it toilet paper, exactly? Correct me if I'm wrong, but coronavirus doesn't give you the shits. Is it because the media has been talking about toilet paper so much that people assume it's going to run out and are now panic buying, and as such it's a self-fulfilling prophecy? How thoroughly ridiculous.

24 hour news at our fingertips. People can't help themselves with this kind of stuff. The media spends every minute of every day trying to get our attention with instant updates on every little issue and people get caught up in hysteria.
If a seriously threatening Pandemic did bite UK supply chains then you won't even need the toilet roll that badly as you'll be struggling to buy basic foodstuff. Don't need the loo as much if you're not eating!

Forget toilet paper, what happens if WiFi goes down in an area, absolute fucking anarchy. Not being able to post selfies or pictures of your dinner to Facebook and society will collapse.

I have some allergies and the windy weather drives them insane, so I'm sneezing and have a runny nose. I'm paranoid about wiping my nose in public least I get chased by angry villagers with burning torches.

*sigh*
I was really hoping that it was a few sensational headlines and nothing more, but no, it appears the UK has started panic buying.

I got dirty looks off people yesterday as I was buying toilet paper.
I got IBD, plus I actually needed toilet paper. Idiots.

I want to self isolate to get away from the constant stream of coronavirus-related bollocks being spouted in the office.

Someone at our office has been made to work from home because they've potentially been in contact with someone who has it.
I'd love to be told to work from home for a few weeks.

I've used all this as an excuse to go back on Diet Chef for a couple of months to lose some weight (I did it a few years ago and it was pretty good). At the very least, it's a huge box with a month's worth of food that can be stored at room temperature, so if I do get infected then I've got a solid supply of healthy, easily microwaveable food to keep me going.

I can do half of my job from home much more easily than in the office, but the other half of the role involves using/running an air-gapped computing facility and I don't think my superiors have really thought it through when they've suggested working from home on Wednesday "to see how it goes". I've got a pretty clear idea of how that can go already.

there is something to be said in catching this thing, self isolating and beating it if it means boosting your immune system
I fear this virus mutating into something a lot more deadlier
