"Oh, thank Verhu it's you, boss! I thought it was them! They've taken over the castle! I was hoping to escape, before they arrived, but it's too late! We're trapped down here! It's only a matter of time before they find their way down and slay us all!"

Hearing the violence unfolding, I'll charge round the corner again and try to attack his sword arm, with the intent of disarming him. As I'm doing this I'll call out "Try and take him alive, he might know more!" (while fully expecting the party to gank him from every angle before he's hit the floor).
