Assuming I will need to be the first person to enter the corridor, my move will be to go right up to that door and open it. Perhaps someone else will search for treasure?
Not after what you were saying before -_-

I'll go first this time, followed by Terence, Gibnar and Paulox.

I'd like to SEARCH THE ROOM.

Bellis searches the empty room and finds that it is truly, truly empty.

Terence walks down the corridor and stands in front of the other door.

Gibnar?

I shall follow Terence and stand just below him, next to the door.

Terence opens the door...

Boom! It's the Quest Room! (Result of actual random die rolls, not just because I wanted the game to go faster ¬_¬)

The Halfling Cook is guarded by five Orcs! One Orc Warlord, two Orc Champions and two Orc Warriors.

COMBAT MODE begins!

First of all it's the HERO PHASE once more, but now the rules are different.

Now, heroes can only move up to their personal maximum Speed (check your profile sheets), rather than 12 spaces.

Heroes can move and attack, or attack and then move. Or, they can bravely run away (move twice, no attack, but the second move action is random).

You can't move and attack if you're trying to shoot a ranged weapon, unless it is a throwing dagger, in which case you can move and throw, or throw and move.

Wizards can cast one spell per turn. A Wizard can cast a spell and also move in the same turn.

Go!

Perhaps we should try luring them back down the corridor a bit? Choke point and all.

Oh, and it means less distance for me to cover to get anywhere near the fight. -_-

Before deciding on a course of action I'd like to know a bit more about the spells I'm packing. Rather than bother Doug I'll have a look through the rules Maturin posted a few pages back.

I feel like this will be our big battle so probably makes sense for me to not hold back here.

It depends on how Doug plays it. He'll be in control of all the monsters so he may decide to keep them back in the room, out of line of sight. Which means we'll have to assault.

What I could do is take one step north this turn and limit them to coming out one at a time.

Could I ask how big my fireball template is (it doesn't seem to say in the rulebook!)? That could affect my strategy here. Guessing it's 3x3 but would be nice to know.

Given how squishy I am that sounds like a bad idea (for me -_-).

I could cast dragon armour on anyone stood in the doorway though while Mantis catches up.

Again, rule book is a bit hazy on the details - how many combat rounds does dragon armour last for?

And, finally, what damage does the fireball do (within a range?)

I kind of want to run into the room and lob a fireball at the leader and bodyguards, but guessing that'd be a bad idea, right? ¬_¬

You could always move one step up. Enemies can't move through death zones, if memory serves.
