Well now, I don't have it on record that you have any such item on your person at this time, save a bottle of Laudanum. You're welcome to drink that...but then you'd have one less dose when you might actually need it. Maybe buy some booze from the bar?
Could we not assume that sometime during their last adventure and journey to this fine establishment, Doc Scrote took the opportunity to craft some of his patented sewer-slop elixir?
This is mainly for flavour text and possible dire consequences, I don't expect to gain any positive benefits from it lol
All right, sounds good! First, tell me what you've mixed up in that bottle and roll me a Wits test (2d20) to see how the process went...
There was an interesting 'creek' that seemed to be flowing from the outhouses at the rear of this very establishment that the doc eagerly scooped up in an empty bottle, and some sprouting greenery nearby of uknown provenance, but which was likely nettles or a weed of some kind, that he added a sprig of, because as every apothecary knows, it ain't medicine without some herbs.
I rolled an 8 and a 12, not sure if that's to be added or if I just take the highest one...

"Oh, it ain't far, sir. Just outside the city, headin' southward-like, not east. When I said 'east' before, I meant the city-folk, out east, used to come to Palace to stay at the ol' Horsehead for some rural 'Western' charm. Ha!"
He spits into a glass before wiping it with a used handkerchief.
Quoted so it doesn't get lost having started a new page...

When testing a special 'Skill' (in this case,
Brown Gold) it's 2d20 then you pick the highest.
Congrats, you've made a medicine! Going to rule that instead of being a generic healing potion, it has an effect of your choice (and we'll try to work that into a reasonable rule).

Cumflutter watches the "doctor" scramble around in the stream of rancid piss flowing from the battered outhouses.
"Remind me never to get sick gentlemen" he says to his companions.

"Well that doesn't sound too taxing at all! Gents, I shall be outside preparing Tuco for the ride," Parcheval says as he strolls with purpose out of the bar.
Turning to his affable chicken he has tucked under his arm he mutters under his breath, "ain't that a relief eh pal? They'll string me up for sure if we head back out east. I tell you right now the one direction we ain't ever going Clint, Eastward!"

How about a sobering effect?
As Doc takes a swig of his elixir, his head suddenly clears as the pleasant fug of the gutrot whisky he'd been imbibing wears off abuptly.
"Oh, shoot," he mumbles, disappointed.

This happened before this scene...

In my mind, Parcheval is now basically Pratchett's Duck Man lol

Probably getting a flashback after watching me drink the stuff

So, you also ordered a whiskey? Okay, I'll subtract $2 from your silver.

That's fine, what's the conversion rate on silver -> $?

Oh, I'm just using $ and silver interchangeably.

In that case I wasn't able to afford the whiskey
Can I roll something to see if I was able to steal it while the barman's back was turned?

Oh, I had it that you had $3 left. Was that a legacy before you made your most recent purchases?

Oh, no, that's ok then, I just checked my sheet and saw I had 1$, I didn't realise you'd already subtracted it!
