Yeah, I never really had in mind that you'd need to be a wizard specifically to use it. An arcane class, certainly, which you already are. I see the circumstances in which you might go about using the staff as more narrative than technical.

Ah alright then. I just checked on D&D Beyond and it allows me to attune to it and use the spells on my sheet despite not being the requisite class. I guess we'll just cross that bridge when I have suitably wooed the staff.

I'm going to have to prepare a shop in Waterdeep that sells deluxe Ronseal now, aren't I?

Some unexpected change of plans for me this week, so I'll only be available tonight or Wednesday. I'm also away next week. Apologies for the limited availability - I'm into family birthday season, which with the current situation involves more travelling than I'd like to be doing!

Wednesday would be preferable for me too, but I can do tonight if that would be the only option.

Are we on for tonight?

Asking as I realise the releases of CK3 and W3 may make this slightly more problematic

Hate to do this but I think I need to bail tonight. It's been a calamity of a day, where after hours of toil I've discovered I've lost about 3 weeks worth of work that I thought I'd managed to recover from my old work laptop before it died (the third party software the work was done in appears to have ballsed up the backup). Even better, I've got a progress meeting on the work tomorrow with a director! \:D/ Anyhow, my mind is a complete fog and there are veins throbbing in my head.

I swear this isn't to get a couple of hours on CK3.

No worries, that does indeed sound a little trying.

Ha... no, it’s gone. The third party software has changed the folder where all the user content is stored but left the old folder in place, so what I’ve backed up is of zero use. Our helpdesk have formatted my old laptop, so recovery isn’t possible. We work very closely with this software provider, and the fact they’ve not told us about the change is pretty shit, frankly.

Basically I have until 2pm to recreate 3 weeks’ work as much as I can. This is like Blackadder trying to rewrite the dictionary overnight. It’s not happening.

If it helps, just remember that C is a big, blue wobbly thing that mermaids live in.

Wrathbone, can't you take the disk to a disk-recovery company? They charge a couple of thousand but can retrieve previously formatted data (or data from a dead disk). I had to do it once or twice back when I used to work in IT.

And if it was a result of your software backup company not telling you the backup folder had changed, I'd say you'd have a good case for sending them the bill.
