6 + 1 = 7

I think I had a second ace? If so, I’ll use it:

Exactly the same roll. #-o
Roll a d6!

I think I'll let that handkerchief go off on the wind. :-&

6+2 for my slick test. #-o

If I fall off the balloon because I was busy snatching a dirty tissue out of the sky..
You also roll a d6, please!

My state more base than are the basest valleys;
I wish no evenings more to see, each evening;
Shamed, I hate myself in sight of mountains,
And stop mine ears, lest I grow mad with music.

Scrancher and Cadaver Kid are both struck by pieces of flying debris, carried upon the wind.

Right, you can lose your hat to take no damage or roll a Death Check!

I'll lose my hat. Not taking that gamble again.

A flying piece of debris knocks Scrancher's hat right off his head, sending it sailing off into the storm-clouds, but he's unharmed.

Just then, there's a bright flash of lightning and the balloon canopy is struck by a bolt of electricity! The following crash of thunder splits the air about you and you're deafened by the sound!

Everyone may now do, once more, one of the following:

1. Brace The PC gains Advantage (rolling 2d20) on any ability check imposed by the storm until the start of their next turn.

2. Try to Navigate out of the storm. The PC checks WITS. Only one PC can attempt to navigate each round.

3. Release a sandbag/bicycle/animal, gaining altitude. There are 4 sandbags, 4 bicycles and 2 animals (Doc's not included, though I suppose the others don't realise it's him). This action is not necessary on the first round, as the balloon has not suffered any damage yet.

4. Reach out and try to grab some passing debris whipping past in the storm (there's all kinds of junk out there flying past)

5. Something else entirely! You let me know...

I would counsel at least one of you drop some ballast as the balloon's taken some damage and you need to lighten the load!

I’ll navigate again.

Nah, you didn't. But at least if you did, the roll would have been a good one!

Dog-Doc bites through one of the ropes holding a sandbag. The ballast drops down to earth and the balloon regains a modicum of precious height.

Cumflutter and Scrancher brace themselves in the basket, while Cadaver Kid keeps control of the balloon amidst the turmoil of the storm.

The wind is now screaming like a banshee's wail and the balloon loses the height gained by Doc's ballast-drop...and then some more! You don't know how much longer it can keep going.

Everyone can now act again. Someone should attempt to Navigate again, for certain, but the others...well, I would counsel you to drop ballast if you feel so moved! The balloon's rapidly losing structural integrity...
