The blacksmith shows you his body-armour and helps you fit it on to each of you.

He explains he was making it for the Redrum Boys, but it was too late; Marshall "No Mercy" Makarty and his band of Fort Gullet Bounty Killers, aided by the Incorporation Army, got here first. Now the Redrum Boys are on the run or slain. He may as well put this armour to good use. The blacksmith does not intend to leave Palace; this is his father's business, and his father's before him. He's planning to stay right where he is and hope it all blows over. Either way, he wishes you well and hopes you make it out alive.

To the north is the General Store, one block away. The Mayor's House is a couple of blocks away, to the north and to the east. Are the Bean Bunch still headed for the Mayor's House?

A man's got a right to stand his ground and I respect your gumption, but truth is if you stay here, you're gonna swept away with the rest. The Bean Bunch leave the blacksmith's workshop and head down the street toward the General Store.

The city continues to burn and the sounds of chaos still ring through the air round about.

It is then that they hear a terrible sound approaching. A creaking of iron machinery and puffing steam.

Suddenly, smashing its way through the facade of a burning building and grinding over the flaming debris with huge iron wheels, rumbles a mechanical monster!

It is some kind of steam-locomotive, covered in all sides with thick riveted armour plating, but running free over the land instead of on rails! At the rear, an iron chimney belches out jets of black smoke, and on top, a rotating mechanical turret has a large artillery gun poking out of a slot that can apparently move up and down.

Narrow, horizontal slots in the armour seem to suggest some kind of viewing portals for the drivers and gunners.

The turret turns about to face you, the gun lowering to aim at your position.
