I feel like it's probably fair karmic retribution if the Bean Bunch's journey comes to an end with all four of us shitting ourselves to death in the middle of the desert with a trail of corpses in our wake.

Well it's definitely the right tone for Frontier Scum!

I wish no evenings more to see, each evening;
Shamed, I hate myself in sight of mountains,
And stop mine ears, lest I grow mad with music.

Why don't you roll me a d4 for damage, Doc. I've been a little inconsistent about the effects of bad water, but I'm starting to think it should be:

Standard failure: d4 damage
Rolling a 1: death check (or instant death for NPCs)

1 on the d4 (I presume you meant a 1 on the Grit roll for the instant death check :shock: )

Yeah, sorry, that's what I meant. Though...even that method is a little inconsistent as it doesn't state how much HP is lost, which affects the death check. I need to think this through a bit more.

I think I might just have it as d4 damage across the board.

d4 damage and Miserable. That means you don't heal when resting. Thankfully you're not short of medicines.

Doc will light a cigarette, trying not to ignite the noxious fumes being produced by his intestines.

Cumflutter finds good water. Cadaver Kid's insides seem hardened to whatever passes for water in this land.

While we wait for Scrancher to find water, someone roll me a d100 for today's random encounter!

While Scrancher is busy off somewhere (nearby) on the daily quest for water in these parched lands, the rest of the Bean Bunch see something strange by the side of the trail as they travel along on their various mounts.

A single black menhir juts out of the cracked earth, an oddly jarring monument in this rugged landscape. On its surface is painted a mural of an angel with six wings.

Below the menhir, lying at the angel's feet, is a leather bag.
