I'm currently sat in one I borrowed for the weekend to decide whether I want to spend the money on my own. I'm still unsure on it. Don't get me wrong, it's a vastly better chair than the £200 no-name one I've used for the last few years, I just wish the arms had some sort of quick release or quick stow function, as I don't think they're going to be compatible with the desk mounts I have for my flight sim HOTAS. You can shift the tops of the arms back by about 5cm, but that's not going to be enough to get them out of the way.

They do have sales occasionally - I got mine for the marginally less eye-watering price of £349.

wow £400

I might save me pennies for that one !

That is for the Titan, which is the larger of the chairs that they do. I have the Omega which comes in at about £100 less. I am 5' 10" and about 15 stone and it is perfectly fine for my build - not sure if you would need the Titan or not.

I haven't got anything against spending that kind of money on a chair, but what exactly separates a gaming chair from a top-of-the-range office chair?

"Gaming" chairs tend to be styled after race-car style bucket seats rather than having a flat back.

Don't know about that - I've just had a look an office supplier out of curiosity and half the chairs there are more expensive than the Titan, and many don't appear to have anything like the same build quality or ergonomic options.

I don't think of the Titan as a gaming chair, really, and I certainly didn't buy it on that basis. I bought it because it's widely regarded as an excellent quality chair that is highly supportive, particularly if you have back problems. It's really helped me in the last few months and that alone is worth far more than £350.

I wasn't suggesting they couldn't be worth that much by the way, I just don't really understand what separates them from other chairs.

I personally don't like the style, but my new PC case flashes multi-colours so I suppose there's a degree to which I could compromise.

Mine arrived today. The bit where you have to align the backrest and the seat was a bit of a faff but other than that there were moments of "Surely it can't be that simple?" followed by "Oh my, it is".

So for reference, 6"5, under 110kg athletic build, the Titan will work for you. I wish it was the inch taller that the xl was while still being the same width as the normal one. The tie on cushion is a godsend. I'll let you know how it gets on but it's looking optimistic.

You may find it a bit unyielding to begin with, but the foam softens over months not days, becoming wonderfully comfortable while remaining fully supportive. I have been sat in mine for the whole of lockdown for every working day and my back has not given me any trouble - that is the greatest compliment I can pay it.

I agree so far it's definitely a firm one but you get the sense that it's just getting started. Plus I'm at the heavier end of the weight scale so hopefully it'll get there a bit quicker.

Build quality is lovely.
