Re: Solasta: Crown of the Magister: Leaves EA 27 May

It's great that this has gone on Game Pass because it should get more attention from people who wouldn't risk money on it, which is fair enough. It won't be for everyone.

Re: Solasta: Crown of the Magister: Leaves EA 27 May

I would say most DMs would never force their ranged characters to keep a running tally of the ammo they carry (or if they do I'm forever grateful you don't, Wrath  ), and in this day and age it feels a bit archaic to have to do so. There are definitely DMs who demand strict ammo tracking, whic...

Re: Windows 11

Get ready for it because Windows 11 is likely going to be pushed hard. MS have already announced that Windows 10 support will end in October 2025, which is much closer than I expected it to be. On the plus side, that probably means they'll offer a free upgrade from Windows 10 to 11 to encourage as m...

Re: Solasta: Crown of the Magister: Leaves EA 27 May

I also finished it the other day, having very much enjoyed it! Your assessment of it is spot on - what's good is really good, but the bad stuff is laughably bad. It never spoiled the overall experience for me, which I think is because the game is so strongly focused around combat, and combat i...

Ah. I’m not back until next Thursday unfortunately.

Guess we’ll call this a mini summer hiatus. :)

Re: E3 2021 - Press Conferences and News - June 12-15

I think people will see that Guardians of the Galaxy headline and assume it's an addon or half-sequel to that tedious Square Enix's Disney's Marvel's The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Live Service Roadmap Heroes , but it's much more a Mass Effect meets Telltale Games style single-player RPG adventure...

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

Cheers, once I've got the basic planning all figured out I'm going to work my way through the Roll20 wiki and see how easily I can work everything into it. It looks like there's quite a lot of tokens and such available for free on there already and I just need to figure out how to import my own map...

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

I'd leap at the chance to be a player for a game. :)

Roll20 has a lot of quirks, but for the most part does everything I want it to. Give me a shout if you've got any questions.

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

I forgot to mention one more lich feature, which is that Sage no longer requires sleep to gain the benefits of a long rest, but still needs to meditate for 4 hours to draw power from the devoured souls stored in his phylactery. I like to think that Slythe's state of mind at this point is a slowly bu...

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

Got to say Wrath, that session turned from something utterly ridiculous to something really epic. That's the first fight in a long time where I've felt like this was an "Oh crap, this is it, fight on or campaign over for me" moment. Considering it all started on a whim about a year and a half ago w...

Ooh, that's pretty nicely balanced actually.

The soul consumption once per week might cause a few controversies though.

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

So, the effects of lichdom: Requirements - Once per week, a sentient soul must be consumed to sustain Sage’s lich form. A soul can be consumed by making a DC15 charisma check on a sentient creature that has died within the last hour. - Up to 5 souls can be consumed in advance. - For every week that ...
