I'm sure I got a lot of value for money out of Civ2 and the original Medal of Honor and Spearhead expansions, which i played massively online for years also... although I doubt they come close to GW2...

Re: The 'I Just Bought' Thread - Technology Edition
I have to agree that a good pair of noise cancelling headphones can be world changing, especially if you have to travel long haul often.
A few years ago i was doing a LOT of travel and grabbed a pair of Bose AC25's. Still use them today, still think they're absolutely fantastic.

Re: Guild Wars 2
Not sure if anyone else is still active on this game, or following the news, but the community had another fun week. It's been a tough year for ArenaNet since their layoffs. Unfortunately their marketing team is utterly, utterly clueless, and it's a bloody shame, because I feel it damages the game m...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series
Watched the first couple of episodes of Carnival Row . Storywise it's pretty standard stuff, nothing surprising so far. The universe it's set in looks interesting, and production values are good. There's a few very cliche characters in there that are utterly annoying, but it's watchable. I'll reserv...

Re: The Elephant in the Room - Brexit
All i've read about in weeks is this ridiculous train wreck of a brexit. What i'm not seeing is public opinion pieces. Are people resigned to this being out of their control? Are people for Brexit through attrition or other? Are people blindly hoping for some miracle? Not living in the UK at the mom...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series
Page 11 has my comments on it: Into the Badlands - Rapidly became one of my favourite shows this year. Absurd Martial Arts / physical combat post apocalyptic show with supernatural powers of some kind. Put simply - there's NOTHING else out there like this, which makes it GREAT! It IS ridiculous, but...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series
I read the art for Hughie in the graphic novel was based on Pegg, so the casting was a bit of an Easter egg for the fans. It absolutely is. I'm re-reading the books at the moment - i think i definitely prefer the TV version - Ennis really doesn't hold back on graphic violence and ottness. https://s...

Re: Currently Playing
Florey and i have been playing a good deal out of this month's Humble Bundle - the Slay the Spire roguelike card game.
It's a good thing when a game passively draws you into its play style and plenty relaxing. very recommended!
