Re: Moving Pictures

I guess this is as good a place as any to post this....

Click anywhere on the map to see the route a raindrop takes when it lands. Useless, but pretty interesting too! :D

Re: The Covid-19 Thread

I finally got my vaccination this morning. Here in Luxembourg we don't get told which one we're getting - we just show up on appointment day and it's whatever it is. I only knew it wasn't Astrazeneca, as that is now (i think) being given to people who voluntarily signed up to skip the queue and star...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

Invicible (Prime) 9/10 Great ending and so not expected. It did suffer some comic book troupes and it was maybe an episode or two too long but I loved the ideas and where this could lead in the second season. I have one question why did Omni-Man wait so long on Earth before springing the fact he wa...

Re: Investing and Savings

I do feel that with cash interest rates having been at rock bottom rates for over a decade, and with an uptick in inflation expected going forward, that the best way to protect your cash is to put your positions into some investments. Otherwise it's basically devaluing over time in your account, whi...

Investing and Savings

It's surprised me for a good long while that I don't think I've ever seen a post on TGA about investments or savings etc. I mean, years ago on PW, we were all pretty young and starting out in our careers (some more so than others!), but over time I guess I somewhat expected that someone somewhere mi...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

Warren Ellis, quite a few woman accused him of trying to groom them online. I think Netflix sacked him before season 4 was produced but he'd already written it so they used his scripts. It doesn't seem like they're accusing him of doing anything illegal, but damn it's sleazy as hell: Now, more than...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

Invincible This was pretty good. It took me a few episodes to get into, but once it hooked me I didn't watch anything else until I'd finished. I think it left a poor first impression when so many of the superheroes on screen are just a bit too derivative, with an Obviously Superman and Obviously Ba...

Re: Currently Playing

Ori And The Blind Forest What a magical little game. Its not the best metroidvania by a long shot but the look, the sound and the general exploration is quite beautiful. I like the save system too, its smart. I'm really enjoying it. Thats what I was thinking at least until it started with the trial...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Watched a couple of films this weekend: Army of the Dead - Exactly what I expected really... average everything, but passably entertaining for a couple of hours. Don't spend time trying to justify the plot or some of the scene edits because plot holes aplenty! Riders of Justice - I watched this Mads...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Love & Monsters Very enjoyable horror comedy with giant mutant insects and other creepy crawlies roaming the world. Considering the relatively small budget the effects and creature design are great. Awesome dog as well :D Haha nice one! :D I watched this in a moment of craziness expecting it to be ...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

So.... I'm still watching Invincible - I'm enjoying it because I know what's coming next, and it's going to be excellent. However, they've changed some of the sequence of events (for... reasonable reasons), but I do feel it's impacted the engagement levels of the show at this point - they're setting...

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

Resident Alien An alien crash lands near a small town in Colorado and pretends to be the new doctor. It's Alan Tudyk as the alien so that's great. I'm still on the fence after 2 episodes if it's worth keeping with but it's only 8 episodes so might as well persevere. The alien practical effects are ...

Re: Currently Playing

I've slowly been working my way through Control . I'm not particularly far into it, I'm currently trying to fix the reactor. I love the presentation of this, and the visuals are quite striking with ray tracing enabled (it's my first RTX game). I'm particularly fond of the silhouetted characters you...
