Re: Ghost Recon: Breakpoint

Interesting you should mention the RPG lite mechanics that Ubisoft seem to be cramming into every single game they make, Ian. I'm just finishing off AC Origins and have found the changes over the original format to make the game a fair bit more interesting. Watching clips for Odyssey though and it s...

Abandoned.

It was clearly unworkable in the first place, but at least they've come to terms with that rather than enforcing a ridiculous system.

Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

I'll likely be back pretty late tomorrow so Thursday would be easier for me.

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan

I've had something similar for nearly a week now. Perpetual feelings of a stuffy nose and lump at the back of my throat like you get in the early stages of a full blown cold when you know you're about to come down with it big time. It's been nothing more than a constant irritant all week, though luc...

Re: Ghost Recon: Breakpoint

Not bothered about Breakpoint but I've just started co-oping Wildlands with a friend and we're having a surprising blast so far. It's arcadey as hell but there's still a lot of fun to be had stealthily taking out an entire base of enemies in a tropical storm at night. I've been playing Assassin's Cr...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

I really enjoyed it too. Not sure it was necessary but I always like seeing Vince Gilligan's work, and it was good tying up all the loose ends that season 5 of BB didn't quite touch. Cranston had such a small part but it was perfect, such a good summation of Walt's character with the simple line "At...

Absolute nonsense article. But quite nicely highlights the level that many are stopping to trying to bash this movie. The comments section talks a lot more sense.

Re: Blizzard bans Pro Hong Kong protest esports player

The backlash against Blizzard for this is starting to get pretty widespread on all their community sites. Rightly so. Pandering to an autocratic country just for a few more dollars sends out all the wrong messages. China has a terrible track record for committing atrocities on all levels, kowtowing ...

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 [PS4, XBone] - PC in November

I can kind of see where the 150gb might go on RDR. But 175gb for a Call of Duty game is frankly stupid.

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

I don't think it's the lack of CGI that people are criticising and saying incites violence. It's the problem that some incel types might take the example of a mentally troubled man who is at rock bottom and starts brutally killing those who cross him as a vindication for that sort of behaviour. I a...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Joker 9/10 Just got back from seeing it myself and have to agree. Holy crap, what a movie. My initial reaction when the credits rolled were at how dark and grim it was. Phoenix gives an absolutely sublime performance. I've seen various reviews online from critics saying it incites violence and what...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

I think the first one was better. But they are both very entertaining.

They remind me of the old Segal movies where he'd be wronged by someone in the intro and then spend 90 minutes just obliterating everyone in front of him.

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan

Situations that make you look like a dick when, technically, you've done nothing wrong. A colleague was on holiday yesterday, which coincided with a planned day of meetings from hell, so naturally my greeting this morning was a coy "How was your strategically-timed day off?", with full Monty Python...
