He looks like a child that liked to harm small animals. .
I have no find memories of him, sketchy as they are.

Re: The F1 thread

I'll chip in on this one although I'm not major FI fan (I'm MotoGp) but my missus is and in particular a LH fan (she was wearing a 44 shirt watching the race yesterday). I find LH to be as dull as ditchwater but he can clearly drive and drive very well, yes the Merc is the best car but conditions ye...

Urgh. And I thought occasionally coming across a Brexit 50p when I'm giving out coin to someone at the bank was bad.
It's a very bizarre situation. I've never had to work on something I'm fundamentally opposed to. The fact that the whole thing is a flaming train wreck makes it 10X worse.

Re: The Elephant in the Room - Brexit

Oh and as a final irony, I'm a QA engineer at an Accounts Software company, I spent three months work on fucking Hard Brexit code last year that got tossed in the bin. I'm currently working on Brexit version 2 code for the last month or 2 until New Years Eve probably.

I voted fucking Remain.

Re: The Elephant in the Room - Brexit

This is as good a thread as any, baldycunt Cummings has left Downing Street for good. I've had a nagging feeling of familiarity about him since he reared his ugly weasel face in the first lockdown. Both the name and the way he looked. It clicked last night. Here's a picture of my old Rugby Team pho...

Re: Trump

Seven US news networks cut off his maniac rambling speech. https://twitter.com/thenewsoncnbc/status/1324503704930832388 Fair play to them, but it begs the question why haven't they been doing this to him for the entirety of his presidency? There does appear to be a certain amount of condemnation an...

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 [PC, PS4, XBone] - out September 17 2020

The problem is those at the top who think that right to left planning ever works. As a PM for the last 20 years, I am well used to this practice. "Here you go Ian, have £X now go and give us this ambitious and challenging piece of development by [Date]". Everyone knows that software development is ...

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 [PC, PS4, XBone] - out September 17 2020

You say you are not but you are pretty much blaming the developers for enabling crunch. By saying it is on them to quit or rise up and say no you are putting all the impetus on them and excusing management for poor project management and exploitation. It's an extreme example but are people working ...

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 [PC, PS4, XBone] - out September 17 2020

I'm sure that there are plenty who drive themselves into the ground during constant crunch purely out of passion for the project they are working on. It must be quite the dream to work on something so ambitious and interesting. But then for every staff member who is super motivated in that way, I'm...

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 [PC, PS4, XBone] - out September 17 2020

I think I might wait and have it as a Christmas present. That way it's a present actually worth having and I'll have a couple of weeks to get stuck into it. There really is no excuse for long-term crunch in the top-dollar game studios these days. The estimated budget for Cyberpunk is around $150m -...

Thanks for the opinions. I guess I'll gird my loins at some point and spec a system. Right now feels like a bad time to do it though.
