The Substance

That. Was. Fucking. Wild.

I enjoyed it. Not for squeamish folk.

Re: 40K Space Marine 2

I just bought it with some birthday money and it should allow access 4 days early - I think from 5pm today.

Should have a chance to try it out over the weekend.

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

Top Boy Aw man, I loved this. Some of the character writing was so good for a cast mainly full of people doing objectively bad things. Sully's arc stood out to me the most, his acting was on point. I never expected to like it all that much as, to be honest, that whole gangsta grime London subcultur...

Re: General Gaming News

Now this is something that is of interest! Of course, it's not actual gameplay yet, but the concept is very much my thing. Loved Dark Messiah.

One to watch for me.

Edit: oh, and a Tremors worm!

Re: Currently Playing

I just picked this up yesterday for 22 quid (had some money to use on the Epic store). Really looking forward to getting stuck in, and I hear it's fairly short which I welcome after having just finished Cyberpunk. Also, hiring Scots to voice Scottish characters, who would've thought! I booted up the...

Re: General TV News

Gonna have to check this out at some point, also heard good things elsewhere about it.

Currently rewatching One Punch Man before starting season 2 as it was years ago that I watched it and I never expected more. It's still as charmingly satirical and funny as ever.

Re: The Witcher - The Netflix Series

"The Switcher" was my favourite comment on that trailer.

I thought the show was pish from the start, unfortunately. I do agree that Cavill was pretty cool in the part of Geralt, though.

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Yeah, I watched it recently in instalments and had fun with it. Definitely a bit bloated but it raised some chuckles from me and had some daft charm to it.

Gratuitous blatant CGI backgrounds often made it feel even more cartoonish to me.

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Speaking of 80's/90's... Dark Angel A 7ft alien criminal lands on Earth and injects people with massive overdoses of heroin and then sucks the "high" juice out of their skull. Dolph Lundgren is a cop trying to stop him by breaking all the rules blah blah.. Entertaining for what it is, a late 80's e...

Re: Currently Reading

Southern Reach Trilogy I love the movie for Annihilation , and I saw that before reading any of the books. Having now read the novel, I thoroughly enjoyed it and absolutely rinsed it in a few sittings. The movie now feels like its own story set within this universe, like it was one of the prior exp...

Re: Helldivers 2 - Snowy's potted review

I really quite fancy this even though I almost never play online. The last time was literally with some of you fellas on Breakpoint about 2 years ago. Since then I've also moved and have fairly unreliable internet. I may take the plunge and try it out at some point as the Starship Troopers/Terminato...

Re: Currently Playing

I stopped somewhere in the 2nd DLC, just wandered into new things. The DLCs are also nails! I wasn't enjoying the 2nd one quite as much, maybe that was why.

I believe the Ghost Dogs only activate if you try shooting the Marauder outside of his window of opportunity. Once I learned that, game changer.
